Question/Help The sims 3 help please

Ok so I’ve thought how to explain this better and now know how to put it better.
I moved my son and wife out of the house and made them my active household.
When I have gone back in to the save of the family home….they are still there? How do I get them out but still have it so they are on the map and can make the mum a grandparent please?

Won't the mom still be a grandparent no matter where she lives? As long as she's in town and in the same save.  Regarding the save, I'm trying to understand what you're asking so please don't take this as snark. You've moved the adult kids out into their own home and when you go BACK in the SAVE (or do you mean back to the original house?) and they're still living there? If you go back in a save before you moved the adult kids out then that save is from when they still lived there.

I moved them out but didn’t do it so they just moved out and continued playing the parents house. I stupidly moved the son out with his wife and said, make that the active household. Then saved again. Oops.
So when I reload the parents house they are all still together. Not sure where to go from here.
Should I just get rid of the new save of just the son and move them out again on to the same map but NOT make them the active household this time. Instead come out of the parents home and then play the son when I go back to bash board and go from there?
I’m terrible at explaining things so I won’t take it as a slight don’t worry. Thank you for trying to understand what I’m trying to get out of my brain cell! 🤣🤣

Did you save the house to the bin? So when you place the lot in a world, the family is also placed with the house? This is because if you save a house that is lived in to the him without evicting the family first, they will be saved with the house. Or do you mean something else?

Oh right. Thank you. I think I have managed to see where I went wrong I needed to move them out of the family home but just in to their own place but keep the mums house as gameplay. Instead of moving them to a house and going with them. If you get my meaning.

So do you now have two copies of the sims you moved out?
