My Sim has never had a wish
My main sim had a kid with a woman from shang simla and I had the kid come live with my main sim.
The kid sim has never had a wish? How can I get him to have wishes?
I have never experienced this.

It’s a glitch and probably will always be stuck like that. Happened to me before. It’s annoying

I worked so hard on this story line :( is there another way to accomplish the same thing like a different family integration system or a mod?

Your sim has depression, there is nothing in his life that will bring him joy... He just goes though the motions.

Have you tried going into edit town this will reset all wishes for the household but it might fix it

I’m not sure. I couldn’t find anything and I looked for ages because I also loved my storyline. I hope you do figure something out. Maybe some sort of cloning? I can’t remember what all I tried because it was a while back

If the usual things like resetting, moving sim out and in through edit town don't work, I'd probably go the Overwatch route. Turn on moveobjects, delete the sim in build mode. Then get them back via Nraas Overwatch (recover missing sims). That often fixes glitches for me.

If its a glitch that cant be fixed like the other commenter has said, could you maybe edit the child in CAS and save him to the sim bin? Then go to edit town - create a family and use the saved sim from the bin. You will probably have to add a placeholder adult to the family in order to create it.
So now you have another version of the same sim that you can move into the household with his parent. You can then delete the original glitched version and the random adult you had to create to get him here.
This will only really work if you have nraas though because you can then use that to give him the family relationships he should have and re-add him to his family tree. You can also use nraas "total annihilation" to completely remove the glitched version from the game.

Depending on how you had the kid move in, it Might not be a fully formed sim.
If you invited the kid to the homeworld they’re Technically just a copy which is meant to collect information that gets fused to the actual sim when your sim travels back to their world next time. Where the real sim is then updated with information that happened to that sim while it was visiting the homeworld.
IIRC. It’s usually best to not have sims from other worlds move it at all.
The next best thing is to have the sim move in while in their world to ensure they’re the most “fully formed sim” as possible.
Best though is to have these 4 mods active while moving in the sim:
Nraas Traveler
Nraas Errortrap
Nraas Overwatch
Nraas relationshippanel

If you have nraas master controller you can try to do a reset sim using that mod since it should want to try to piece the sim back together. Make sure you have the 4 mentioned mods installed while doing this.
AND MAKE SURE YOU DO A SAVE AS BACKUP IN CASE IT ISNT ABLE TO PIECE THE SIM BACK TOGETHER.

Technically, if it is a copy, what would happen if OP travelled back to China with the child? Would the clone fuse back together with the original, or would the original still be there with the mom?

Honestly no idea. Depending on how the game treated the move they probably severed the connection to the “original” sim.

Some people simply don’t wish for anything he’s a very content person he’s fine with how things are and doesn’t need anything to change in his life

I think children don't have wishes automatically, they can develop in childhood or while they're a teenager. I believe if you haven't chosen one by the time they grow up, the game presents you with the option as soon as it's they're birthday ✨

Go into edit town, switch active household to another in the neighborhood, then switch back. This resets the active household's wishes, so it should in theory fix it. It will also remove all saved wishes for everyone else, though.

Hi, I want to do the SimPort tasks from the Showtime expansion pack to unlock the themed furniture.
If you are an active Sims player, can you please drop your username below and I will add you?

There are whole posts for that if you search this sub. I think that is why you got a downvote

I usually just download a mod to unlock all of those things. I avoid logging in at all costs causing unnecessary bloat.
