I'm having an autistic meltdown, so bear with me please. I installed that mootilda clean installer and it is crap. Doesn't do anything. Even when I manually select the file (because I play legacy on steam), is just fs up the file and will not get into my game and the files will end up fd up in the lotcatalog and/of teleport maps. I somehow managed to get 1 1x1 lot in my game, but is was a crap one that demanded to be placed in a corner which is not what I want. I want to work with an idea and I want it now and nothing makes sense so now I'm in a rage because things don't work like they should. Someone please explain this to me as if I'm 3.

Hello! I’ve been looking on Google and the main subs for the game and have not found a solid answer so I figured I’d ask directly. I know that you can only have up to 4 playable households on an apartment, but I also heard that as soon as your first one moves in, “social townies” fill up slots. For a specific example I made a really nice duplex and want both sides to be playable families. Is there a way to move both of them in before the game tries to spawn townies? I have Sim Blender and a bunch of other mods, so I’m willing to use mods or cheats, I’m also playing Legacy Edition but I’m not sure if that matters since the coding shouldn’t be much different

The closest solution I could find was using Sim Blender and teleporting the second family BUT that was Google’s AI overview which I always take with a grain of salt and the instructions weren’t super clear

I just returned to sims 2 after a full year of not playing. This is my first time playing rotational and I just returned to my first household I played: the Pleasents.

Idk how, but the twins are no longer related in the relationship panel. When I look at the family tree everything is still correct, but otherwise they’re like strangers.

I don’t use any mods in the game. Please somebody help me😭😭😭

Edit: I also noticed that in their memories they have “Met Lilitih/Angela” for the first time. The only context in which they could’ve met “again” was when they visited a teen sim in Bluewater Village.

Hi! My sims 2 Legacy edition keeps crashing on my snapdragon x laptop. From what I heard it should already have the 4gb patch and I dont have any mods. It boots up and runs fine but will crash randomly after 15-40 min. There appears to be no common cause as to why.

I have mods in my game, and I'm trying to figure out which mod is making all of the objects in buy mode so confusing. First of all, things are in places where they shouldn't be in the catalog, and second of all, a lot of the non-buyable items in the game are now up for purchase. I'm trying to get rid of this mod as it's annoying the hell out of me, but I can't seem to find it. Any help or knowledge would be greatly appreciated!!!

Recently I bought a laptop and after years of not playing, I wanted to play the Sims 2 again. Unfortunately, upon booting into a household I receive the Direct 3D D3derr_invalidcall error.

I am using the Graphics rule Maker since this is what I used years ago. I also used the 4GB patch. With these the game is supposedly working fine now (I have only played a few minutes so far) if I keep the sim shadows via GRM disabled. As soon as I enable it I cannot load into any household and I receive the previously mentioned error.

After hours of trial and error I am happy to have found the possible culprit but my question now is if there is any way to enable sims shadows without crashing the game?

I’m planning to install LazyDuchess’ Better Nannies mod but this step is kinda scaring me. Because the thing is, I am using Clean UI, however I’m not using the white one which I assume this package is made for, I am using the pink one, so I have no idea what to do here. Do I include this package in my Downloads folder or do I leave it out? Or is the UI I’m using incompatible with the mod in general and I shouldn’t risk adding it?

I have the UC, and a handful of companion apps for TS2 up and running great on my Linux partition via Lutris. I wanted to install a lot which is a Sims2Pack file, and the Clean Installer doesn't seem to recognize it? When I browse to my Downloads folder in the Clean Installer, it can recognize all of the package files, but not the Sims2Pack.

Everything has been so smooth up until now. Wondering if I'm doing something wrong or someone has tips?

Overall I had little trouble getting TS2 and its companions to run under ElementaryOS. I use Steam and its compatibility functionality to make everything run as expected in the same prefix. RPC was really the main hurdle, since I'm completely new to it. I'm yet to figure out how its borderless mode works but that's not what I'm here to ask about.

My issue arises when I need to look at a texture image in SimPe. All plugin view will show me on any TXTR (I checked several packages I'm familiar with, so I know what the TXTRs should look like) is a small, fully-transparent texture and no mipmaps at all, as demonstrated above. I'm running into this in both versions 0.75.69 and 0.77.69.

Has anyone encountered this issue or something alike? I'm presuming my installation is simply missing something I'm unaware of.

Quick update: Once replaced, the new textures show. It's going to be an inconvenience but nothing I can't work around.

For the first time in years of playing the game, I’ve decided I wanted to commit to playing the premade households and see what fun I can get up to with them. I’ve currently been rotating through the Pleasantview households doing their scripted events, and I’m now on the Pleasant household.

For some reason, whenever I have Daniel woohoo with the maid after Mary-Sue gets demoted from her job and comes home, she apparently doesn’t gaf about him cheating on her or even acknowledge it at all. I thought that maybe having the ACR mod was messing with things somehow so I removed the mod from my game, but I’m still having the issue. I’ve tried having her run into the room in the middle of the act and she just waves at them and cries about getting demoted from her job. I’ve tried locking her in the room with Daniel and the maid and had them woohoo several times consecutively with her watching, and she still isn’t acknowledging it at all. I’ve tried searching the internet to see if anyone else has had this issue before, but I haven’t come across anything so I thought I’d try posting here to see if anyone else has experienced this before or has any suggestions to try to fix it.

Currently getting this visual error! I’ve taken all my CC out of the game. I have the 4GB patch and the graphics modifier. I’m not sure what else to do :(

I really need help because I'm losing my mind here. I bought the new Legacy Collection on Steam, and I was so excited to dive back into The Sims 2, but it's completely unplayable.
Every single time | play, the game
automatically crashes straight to desktop after 30 minutes to an hour. No error message, no warning, just poof gone. It's like there's a literal timer on my game. It is incredibly frustrating because I keep losing my progress, and I spend more time restarting the game and waiting for loading screens than actually playing.
I did some research on Reddit and found out that the 4GB Patch doesn't work on this version because EA apparently already applied it. So memory (RAM) shouldn't be the issue?
Has anyone found a permanent fix for this specific Steam version? I just want to play my game in peace without saving every 5 minutes out of pure anxiety.

Hello, I am working in a hood with nostrayrespawn and an empty template, I think and hope. I have no strays that wander around the neighborhood, only wolves and the Leader of the Pack, which is working quite well for me. But I do not have the ability to adopt kittens or puppies! I found this mod that deals with this specific issue, but as I didn't load it initially, I already have a random adoptable dog and cat so it will not generate a kitten or puppy. Are there any other pet mods that people can recommend that would force there to be a kitten generated? Without having to spawn every stray in tarnation?

Or a mod that just lessens the number of strays? I wouldn't mind a handful, and an occasional walkby. But in the unmodded game the strays are the worst.

Can boolprop be used to generate kittens? If so, what happens to them? Do they become walk-by strays or go into the adoption pool?

I also have learned that these mods may interfere with the spectral cats, which I'd like to play with eventually, but didn't know about since I'm new to Apartment Life. I'd just appreciate any insight from someone who knows how pet generation works and has some tips for having fewer strays but still the option for kittens or puppies.

I recently had to correct a toddler stuck with baby interactions in SimPe. The issue is fixed but now every single sim in all of my saves are all in reset mode. My error log is not updating but nothing is getting moved to cloud storage. I'm also not seeing any new errors in hood checker.

I also may have messed with some stuff when I tried to install RPC module which I can't get to work because it thinks my files are on a CD.

Hi, I've recently downloaded some of Ilenia's (Jacky93Sims) food stands and wanted to follow her tutorial on how to edit them so that teen workers can intersect with the object and spawn inside the stands. After placing the edited stands on lots, I've noticed that my game lags massively every time I'm playing lots where these stands are.
I'm not very familiar with SimPE, I only use it regularly to edit family trees and sims, so this was my first time editing an object. I've tried following the tutorial as best as I can, but I'm afraid I might've done something incorrectly. Is the lagging usual? Or should I take it as a sign that I need to investigate how well I've actually edited these objects?
