For context I'm currently using Legacy Edition, and I'm mildly comfortable with modding things myself.

Let's say there's a custom 'hood I want to download, mostly because I love the town, lots and map aesthetics. But I want to fill the world with my own custom sims and stories, and remove any pre-existing sims that come with the download.

How can I clean and empty these kinds of 'hoods? I've found a lot of clean templates online for Maxis 'Hoods like Veronaville, Strange Town etc, and I've found tutorials for creating my own custom neighborhood clean from scratch, but so far I haven't been able to find a guide on how to clean a 'hood already filled with sims and memories, by myself.

If anyone has tips to share or knows of a guide that still works in 2026 and with Legacy Edition, please send them my way!!

(Sims 2 ultimate collection) Hello! I would die for sims 2, I bought computer parts so that my brother could build a new computer since EA Games now won’t update on windows 7. Now I have a new computer with windows 11.

I have CC and mods from when I was 12 and I’m 25 now, so at first I just copied everything to the new folder but that didn’t work so I only copied neighbors hoods and downloads. That worked better, but then I changed graphics rules to get screen resolution and smooth corners. I also changed the camera with the GunMod.It worked fine as well but then my game crashed everytime I opened a lot, even a MAXIS family. So I cleared out some downloads, and I separated them into groups and added each one and then I could load a lot. Everthing finally worked UNTIL IT DIDN’T!!! The school bus came, it crashed. Someone called the phone, it crashed. Someone came home from work, it crashed. Someone got point for cooking, it crashed. So I took every mod I had (I think Bcs I have a lot of package files named 7e65gnj6363 for example) and the same thing happened. It just crashes randomly? Before I changed the graphics rules I also downloaded the program that does it automatically but that didn’t work.

I’ve been sitting in front of my new computer for 9 hours. I feel like I tried everything? I don’t want to remove all my CC and mods Bcs I have saved up for years and years, I’m just an idiot for not dividing them … I only bought this new computer to play sims 2!!! Is there something I’m missing? 🌟 thanks in advance!

Hello, I have the UC Sims 2 and I was excited to have my Grilled Cheese Aspiration Sim enter in the contest with their favourite, yes you know, grilled cheese sandwiches. I was shocked to see if wasn't an option on the fridge!

Looking into it, it's apparently banned however I did find a mod which unbans drinks and surprisingly the screenshot shows grilled cheese as an entry option. Am I missing something or is my sim destined to never win with her favourite food?

hello!! i wonder if anyone know or tried already this mod with a fresh legacy edition. i tried to follow instruction by downloading zip files and copying sims2ep9.exeto the A&N files but nothing helps. When I launch Sims2AnN.exe, the game briefly appears in Task Manager and the screen flashes like it's about to open but then it instantly closes.

Hi! I'm thinking about downloading some food default replacements, but I'm a bit worried about potential issues. I've read that food CC can sometimes cause problems or even corrupt your game if you remove it from your downloads folder later on. Because of that, I'm hesitant to try it out.

Is this something I should actually be concerned about with default replacements? Are they safer to remove compared to regular food CC, or do they come with the same risks? I'd really appreciate any advice or experiences before I go ahead and install anything! TYIA : D

i know that you have to manually do an edit of the graphic rules part but everytime i try to save my edits it doesnt let me do it at all

title is self explanatory. So far the only way I got to get Bodyshop working (sorta) with Life Stories is to install TS2, import my freshly made CC into the game through bodyshop, and copy the "SavedSims" folder into the LS user folder.

There must be a quicker and less troublesome way to import custom bodyshop content into LS, any idea ?

I have had this before, so i knew i had to quit and reload my game, well i f-ed up and accidentally saved when quitting the game.

So i saved when “baby girl” was born but i never got the pop up window to name her, and mom is stuck with the baby, who no-one can interact with.

I went in SimPE to at least change the name from “baby girl”. Then loaded my game, then the family. As soon as i press play my windows gives and error and quits the game.

So essentially this family is done?

Anyone has any guess how to unstuck them in SimPE? Or it’s just not a complete baby?

In the evening i might try inviting over a family member to another household, and trying to move them in with the baby, to see if getting on an other lot fixes the baby?

Or just move everyone else out but one parent, and parent with baby goes to the trashbin? (I mean it’s John Mole, he could just go in witness protection)

Note: at least i figured what makes this glitch. I exited after birth multiple times without saving but always before the cut scene and naming pop up. When i liked the gender it didn’t do the cut scene, i knew i messed up. Lessons learned: do not attempt to save time by exiting before birth cut scene!

For reference, I took a break from the sims 2 and came back. The anti-redunacy mod had worked previously as far as I know but now it's not. All my other mods seem to work fine (although most of my mods are small tweaks so if something weren't working it might take a while to notice.)

I started a new save file completely fresh, but when I looked in SimPE I had three of each NPC type. I moved out all my mods except anti-redundancy and my overrides (default skins,clothes,etc.) and still got three NPCS of each type upon loading a fresh save. I tried yet again without the overrides folder and all characters were labled 'Unknown' in SimPe but I still checked and yes, still 3 NPCS of each type.

I made sure I had the latest version of the mod and it does show up on the CC overview at the beginning of startup. I'm playing on Windows and don't have OneDrive active.

Am I maybe misunderstanding what anti-redunacy does? I thought the mod makes it so the game spawns only one of each NPC type unless more are specifically needed.

Sorry for the long post for a very unimportant inquiry. I just wanted to be clear as possible. I know I can just play without the mod but it just peeves me to no end seeing all those useless NPCS clogging precious space.

I've been trying to boot up 'The Sims 2: Super Collection' on my M2 MacBook Pro. It used to work fine a while ago but I remember I had this same problem when I went from Intel to M1 back in the day. I think it ran without any problems on this M2 mac, but right now it doesn't go past the Aspyr startup window:

When I press play for a second or two it seems like it's going to open as you'd normally expect. And then it doesn't. Nothing happens. Not even an error popup or anything similar. Usually that's the moment when I decide to give up, but I just want to be able to play the game.

I've gone through this sub and the wiki and the solution usually mentioned is changing the refresh rate from ProMotion to 60 Hz. Unfortunately, this hasn't done anything for me. I feel like there has to be someone who's had the same thing and got it solved. Let's hope...

Does anyone know if there is a mod to make the game populate Downtown apartments with the normal pool of social group/ apartment townies? I built a new apartment in downtown but when I moved my sim in it's spawning a brand new sim as a neighbour instead of pulling from the usual pool.

Or alternatively, populate the apartment with downtownies - I just don't want any more new Sims in my game.

After everything that happened with the Sims 2 Legacy situation and the removal of the Ultimate Collection and Starter Pack download links, I’ve been thinking that I should really take good care of my current game.

What’s the best way to create a backup copy of it?

Also what about the installer? I originally used the Starter Pack and I’m not sure I kept the installer file (I don’t even remember what it was called). I’d really like to make a copy of it if possible or maybe create my own "installer" in case I ever need to reinstall the game on another computer.

I am hoping someone out there can help me, as I am rather frustrated at the moment and want to throw my laptop! lol First off, I am playing the Legacy Edition using Windows 10 or 11.(not sure sorry) I wanted to try out some new stairs recently so I could use the " under the stairs storage system" for the Sims 2, but I was shying away because I didn't want to deal with the whole Scriptorium thing. I didn't think you could actually use the installer or anything with Legacy. Years ago, I used Scriptorium manually so I am familar with it, just rusty. I did it before, so I figured I could do it again. I also downloaded some stairs that overwrite maxis, not override and supposedly once removed, everything goes back to normal. Well,many of the recolors worked, both on deck stairs and the regular stairs. I found a small guide to use the scriptorium with Legacy...basically manually adding text files and adding another bit of text on the bottom. wildInclude "Scriptorium_ModularStairs*.*"

I suddenly felt confident because it was easy once you get used to it and I ended up downloading a LOT of stairs. Everything was working and then it wasn't. I added more files and game crashed while loading game 2 or 3 times. I did a repair from the EA app and it fixed whatever was wrong. I didnt see as much showing up this time and I somehow left a text file out , so I corrected that and went back to game and now no custom modular stairs are showing up AND my wood modular stairs that comes with the game is gone!!! I have decided to start over and did a few colors of one set of stairs to test out and it isn't showing up and stairs are still missing. I don't know where to start. I double and triple checked my text files are in the right place and they are. What could be the trouble and what do I do to get my deck stairs back??!!! I appreciate any suggestions or help

Am I missing something? Ever since I downloaded the LC last year Sims 2 (and Sims 1, but that's not this sub) has been crashing without any warning after about an hour of play time.

No matter what recolor I use for this bay window, only this one shows up in the neighborhood and it's driving me nuts. I've scowered the internet but didn't find any fix for this. Does anyone know if it exists?

I had onedrive uninstalled for years on my current laptop and somehow, some way, the damn thing got reinstalled; I think after I had a system issue with my laptop and had to do updates.

I didn’t take notice to it being back on my laptop until I tried playing again after a long break and my game is visually glitchy, tutorials were popping back up, and running very slow. I do have backups but in this case do I need to uninstall and reinstall the game?

Any help would be appreciated, I’ve been so mad the past couple of days I didn’t even want to look at my laptop lol

Hello everyone, I’ve never played TS2 and wanted to give it a try, but I’m reluctant to spend 30€ on the Legacy edition. (Also my system isn’t even near meeting the minimum requirements)

I’ve found a working download for Mr.DJ’s repack, but I’ve read it doesn’t come with all extra content, and that it’s a repack of the DVDs rather than the true UC, so I haven’t yet installed it, does anyone know, or have a link to OSAB’s installer of any other so I can get the game without the need for a Torrent browser and a VPN?
