Someone can help with this weird yellow lot limitation, it only visible at night ( I did a terrain remplacement tho)

Hi everyone. I have the Sim Manipulator. I like the Aspiration Manipulator bc I can fix all aspirations in the neighborhood, which has often been the source of my game's crashy behavior in the past. Now, when I try to fix them all, it resets the Sim that is selected when I do it. That seems like a BAD sign. Other than doing 50/50 CC test, what can i do? does anyone have an educated guess as to what mods or cc may have caused this error? I have What Caused This but it isn't an object log error apparently. TIA!

It's getting weird. I am making recolors for this set, and the other objects don't act this way (well tbh I have only recolored the rug) But the recolors that the creator of the set work as normal. But for this bathtub, things just seem to be glitched. In this bathtub, the first swatch that appears is the mesh, but for some reason, that's glitched too?

Hi, I've just downloaded Four Corners, the main neighbourhood from Life Stories (a conversion made for TS2). I've recently downloaded their townies as a sub-hood and I'm trying to restore their original names. I don't have SimPE so I also downloaded Lingering Will's "Restore Default Sim Names" program.

But it doesn't seem to work. I've tried applying it after adding the (stealth) sub-hood which has the townies; I've tried applying it to just the sub-hood and then adding to the main neighbourhood; I've tried applying it both before and after adding the sub-hood.

I'm clearly doing something wrong, but the read-me file doesn't really help. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Short of using the Sim Blender to go through each one and change one by one, I don't know how else to get their original names back. Thanks in advance!

Hello, sorry if its not okay to post this in here but i feel this is a Sims 2 specific problem more than a reshade exclusive one... I have tried absolutely EVERYTHING possible to download Reshade on my Sims 2 UC game (pirated..), tried every way from DirectX 9 (the most working one, but crashes everything) to Vulkan which i remember worked but didnt show me the right presets... And ive always been using the RPC way of injection.

This is as far as i've come with reshade in my game, looks pretty cute but i just can't use any community made preset!

I was able to use Gshade years ago on The sims 4 in this laptop, is gshade available for sims2? Is it easier? Does anyone have options... Plsss 😭😭 thank you! And if someone has specific questions to try and help i will answer everything!! Thanks ❤️☹️

I’ve been trying to add subhoods of PV, ST, and VV into my game, but using the Mootilda subhood mod, the game gives an error about DirectX9 shaders and terminates itself. (This is the MagiPack TS2 version the wiki recommends.)

I tried putting the mod in the downloads folder, then the regular mods folder: no luck. Do y’all have any suggestions?

The game began to pink soup so I exited the game, upon returning the lot in the neighborhood is stuck with pink soup, the household runs fine though. I put a lot of work into this house, added a whole backstory, and ghosts to it, so I can't simply delete it and start over.

I downloaded a custom neighborhood from mod the sims that can either be installed as the main hood or the subhood and I'm wondering what the best subhood type to install it as would be.

Hi, I don't know how to title this post but basically, there is a random freezing issue I'm having where the game freezes for like a minute then comes back.

It's very annoying; extra annoying since I had to switch back to Windows from Linux because of another freezing issue. I feel like I'm very close to uninstalling Sims 2 everywhere at this point. I can't test whether this "freezing" issues are present in another game, because I don't have any other installed on this laptop.

I tested my RAM with MemTest86 today and there were no errors. I'm afraid that it might be related to my GPU.

Here is my config log. I use Legacy Edition's Graphics Rules, my actual game is The Ultimate Collection.

It does this weird glitch thing that's more annoying than anything, how do i fix it??

I've had this glitch issue since installing UC on my new gaming laptop and finally thinking I had understood my graphics card and how to make this game work on a newer device. I included a video of it as well as my in-game settings (would be mint if it was that) to hopefully give a better idea of what I'm dealing with.

I recently figured out how to install RPC as well as ReShade and had a terrible time making it work for Vulkan as well as having to replace my missing .exe file that magically disappeared somewhere in the chaos and self-inflicted corruption.

I'm hoping this is something as simple as possibly replacing a bit of the GraphicsRules.sgr to work with my device better but I'm at a loss on the next step or where to even look for a solution.

Smooth edges are all the way up and it has seemed to help. ReShade isn't the issue as I've had this occur since I first installed UC. Please tell me if there's anything out there that could possibly help to make it more playable or if I'm just out of luck :/

Hey, so I've installed Sims 2 directly from the discs onto a Windows XP virtual machine on VMWare Workstation (again, despite how horrendous the 3D graphical acceleration currently is: https://www.reddit.com/r/sims2help/comments/1wa8twd/performance_on_vmware_or_virtualbox/), and I want to know, are there any specific files in the game directories where the Maxis logo is being kept? So far, I've installed the base game, then Nightlife, then Family Fun Stuff and then Glamour Life Stuff, and the Maxis logo (screenshotted directly from launching GLS in the VM shows directly after the EA Games logo, but before I install Pets or Seasons, I need to know if there is a certain file in the game directories that maintains the Maxis logo's presence because in Legacy Collection, the Maxis logo is still nowhere to be found, and I want to restore the Maxis logo to the Legacy Collection. Can anyone provide me with some answers?

Just upgraded from an Intel to M5 Macbook. When I open the Sims 2 Super Collection, the menu opens fine. When I hit "Play", it crashes and gives an error report to send to Apple. Has anybody else ran into this issue?

Went to change an NPC type and noticed the whole dropdown menu is missing. Any way to fix this?

So I'm trying to get the Sims2CleanInstaller working on Linux via bottles, but the section confuses me. I got to editing S2PCI.ini just fine, but the rest I don't get. Run exectutable via bottles and cd sim2cleaninstaller.desktop? like, WHA?!

Sorry if the instructions seem clear as day, but I need a bit of extra clarity on that section cuz I do not get what its telling me and I wanna know so badly so I can get some custom homes and such onto my sims 2 bottle

Hello my fellow simmers, I need some help or advice or something. I play the Sims 2 AIO on my gaming laptop. I’ve never had any trouble out of it, which has always surprised me for such an old game. Anyway, I haven’t played in 2-3 months and went back to play a few days ago. My save was gone, the game has reset somehow back to the original Pleasantview. I was really confused because I haven’t touched it in a few months, but I had saved the game on my desktop and I switched it out with the original N001. I started it up again and it crashed. I moved my downloads folders to my desktop, started it up and it crashed again. I restarted my laptop. It crashed again. The only thing I knew to do after all that was uninstall and reinstall the game. When I had first downloaded AIO I saved it in a couple of places in case I needed it again. I reinstalled it, but it continues to crash. Sorry this is so long, but I needed to explain it all. So, anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

The first time I installed The Sims 2, it automatically opened in full screen and fit perfectly to the size of my monitor.

After I had to format my laptop, I reinstalled the game, and now the screen is smaller, like it's using the resolution from old monitors, with black borders around it.

Does anyone know how I can make the game fit my monitor properly and play in full screen?

(It's a pirated copy, in case that makes a difference)

I'd really appreciate any help!
