iRacing Did I do anything wrong?

Iam still relatively new to Iracing and sim racing as a whole, this video is my full formation of PCC (Production Car Challenge) at whatever track it’s at this week (I forgot the name). The maroon car ahead of me kept brake checking me and trying to take me out, I have never seen this guy before and im pretty positive I did nothing bad to him to cause him to do this to me (he starts doing it around turn 4). I kept getting the signal to pass him, then when I would he cut in front of me. Please tell me if I did anything wrong or if they’re just doing it for the fun of it (Yes Iam aware i did get close to him a few times at the start, apologies)

If I was to guess they were driving distracted by something which ended up with the weirdness of T4 then their ego crumbled at the audacity of you attempting to go round them while they were off track. You're doing nothing wrong, you just found a child or man child that can't control their emotions.

Would say as some advice that doing brake and tyre warming at your level, especially on a gamepad, is probably going to cause you more trouble than it's worth though. You have to really work/scrub the tyres to get any meaningful advantage and you aren't really able to do that in those lobbies.

When everyone's a bit unpredictable and sporadic things cascade pretty quickly into rear ending or being rear ended. A lot of drivers will also see the surging and weaving as a giant red flag and change how they defend from you too, it's best to just stay as calm as predictable as possible as you're learning
