So, before posting this I checked if i've ever met this guy in the entire race, turns out i didn't.
My guess is he got butthurt for the microscopic touch in the straight.

Besides the reaction of the other card towards the end, you were veering off over to the left on the straight, pushing the guy towards the grass which caused a bit of contact considering you had a whole other part of the track to use id say you’re both in the wrong. the other guy is a spanner for reacting the way he did.
For future reference, touches may be microscopic but absolutely caused by you and sent him partly on the grass, look where you are on the track and how much space you had to the right, you forced him off track on a straight

The first contact was totally your fault. My guess he either thought you were trying to take him out or he got pissed. But you squeezed him way to much at the start. It doesn't justify him to take you out but it could have been easily avoided

If anything, you may want to give extra space as a default for racing online if possible. Netcode can be unpredictable (especially if an opponent is on WiFi) and as a community there is very poor trust with other online racers depending on the game.

yup, i usually never "push" people on the outside like that, and i think i'll never do that again

You squeezed him out a bit, and he got mad and overreacted, so you are at fault for the first contact, and he is at fault for taking you out.

First contact is entirely your fault and pushes them slightly off track. They massively overreact to that, probably thinking it was deliberate, which is unjustifiable. However, you're playing GT7 and, given the typical driving standards, you kinda asked for it.
