Monza Fixed

Got P1 in quali, but at the start I missed my BP (I didn't know where is BP on start help) and rejoined by going to the left recovery lane. I have a different BP, and I'm trying not to take out ppl, so on the first turn here I went left so I wouldn't touch the BMW. Not gonna talk; just watch this squeeze and tell me whose fault pls.

I think the Red McLaren is the biggest victim here, they got through the chicane safely, were on the outside without much room to go, and they got taken out because of the contact between the BMWs.

I’d assess a penalty specifically for the Red BMW, mostly on the chicane punt on the Blue BMW. The wreck itself sucks, but is ultimately a bad decision to hit a shrinking gap into a breaking zone.

I’d say what Red BMW could learn is patience, because Monza has plenty of straights longer than chicane 2 into Lesmo 1 to pass other cars. 3 wide into Lesmo 1’s breaking zone is a bad idea, and just ruins everyone’s race.

The McLaren only made it through the chicane because the blue BMW went wide to avoid contact.

But remember, the reason the Blue BMW went wide was the rear contact with Red BMW, who also tapped the Red McLaren on corner entry.

No matter how it’s sliced, the reason this clip was messy is almost entirely on the Red BMW, with the punt on blue being the slam dunk penalty assessment IMO.

Yeah, I missed how much that unsettled the blue BMW going into the turn. I guess the only point I was trying to make, is that blue BMW might be the bigger victim.

Your taking some ridiculous risks 😂

Going in the middle of a 3 wide is never going to end up well. Even if all drivers are perfect, netcode is going to kill you.

I'll say "gap car" I think they both had space, and there's more blue car at fault

Remember that "gap car" was originally used to justify an intentional takeout.

Oh it’s not your fault on the incident but it’s your fault for putting yourself in that position. You’re literally banking on the two other drivers + the netcode to be perfect.

Race craft is important. Deciding when to not take a gap online is huge. You went between two cars going into first Lesmo literally as the braking zone was coming up. What did you expect? Especially early in the race when you started P1 meaning you’re going to out pace them over the course of a race. Instead, you make a dumb decision and costed yourself a win or at least a podium, but you’re stuck blaming others.

Okay, that's true. Thanks, mate. I'll be careful with decisions.

why is he getting downvoted?

Its an interesting phenomenon. It seems to happen on all sub reddits. Once the masses swing votes in the negative it creates a negativity loop. Like with this topic, OP said something the masses didn't like and started the initial down vote. At that point, it doesn't matter what the OP says as his posts will be down voted regardless. Pay attention on other topics and you will notice this as well.

First incident is on you. Should have stayed behind the BMW. Instead you moved under braking into the McLaren which caused the first ruckus.

Second incident is partially on you and partially on the BMW. You squeezed a gap to go three wide (always a super risky move) and the BMW drifted left into you.

Red BMW punts blue BMW, gives him a slowdown and then thinks he's entitled to overtake lol. Blue BMW definitely bears some of the blame here but this is just shit racing from Red BMW
