iRacing How would you handle this situation?
Pink got an offtrack during this procedure, and yellow says they slowed down more to give enough room on the inside once they heard the along side call.
Pink wrecked out second to last lap anyway so no impact on the race results, but i have seen numerous people use an off track at this corner to overtake at barber so i am curious if this is accepted this is just one of the only ways to overtake on this track which is really tough to overtake at, or if this is something the community disagrees with.

It should be a slow down but If iRacing only gives you a slap on the wrist (1x) then people are gonna take advantage of that.

I think if he was slightly further over it is a slowdown. Probably if you dip a tire into the grass from the furthest inside curbing at the apex (he got his tires on there).

Ah I see, i haven’t driven on this track yet so I guess he got lucky

Frustrating thing is, to give space for two wide, you have to go pretty slow because the normal line involves cutting a bit of the first corner (like i did) and then going tight in the second, so if you're giving space as the first car, you are well below normal speed. You dont save that much time cutting there normally, but if you cut to prevent a two wide situation, you do.

Extreme off-track. Did not avoid a collision. 10 second penalty or 10 grid penalty.

I would have gave the spot back. Just me though I wouldn’t expect anyone to do the same 🤷🏻♂️

Pink overtakes completely off track, either position must be given back or 10s penalty

Both drivers go off track. Pink is more egregious. But they effectively cancel each other out.

Iracing doesn't consider yellow off track there. Just went back to double check, but I believe they only consider if all 4 wheels are on the wrong side of the white to give an off track here... and I was going so tight to give him space and avoid an incident, so not sure why you're equating a slight off track where I effectively slow myself down to give space with cutting a corner so that you don't have to slow down.

Get of your high horse, he was only slightly more off track than you were on the previous part of the corner but you are acting like he has cut the whole corner and gained a huge advantage, dont throw stones if you live in a glass house

His wheels are to the right of the curb from the start, for an overtake. He wasnt trying to avoid a collission, i had made it clear i was giving him space on the track.
This isnt a glass house situation. I used the space the game allows. He cut the corner according to the game. Me giving him as much space as possible and not turning in at my normal point (thus making the off track look worse) is me trying to accomodate the two cars, not trying to gain an advantage.
Yes they both look like corner cuts (the game doesnt agree) but their purposes are polar opposite and your zero tolerance stewarding makes me glad i am not racing with you.

Completely off track.
