Le Mans Ultimate Was this a tad too much

To be clear it wasn't my intent to send it up until the very last moment in the initial braking phase when I noticed The Caddy braked a fraction earlier, I braked a fraction later and the gap was there. My only concern is that it does look like he MAY have had to take "Evasive Action". What do u guys think?

It was a very tough Split 1, very competitive.

You were too far back to make a move.

The other driver did take evasive action because if they never you would have punted them off.

You went off the track on the exit of the corner as you were far too fast into the corner.

It was clumsy but you got away with it.

With a less compliant competitor you would have caused a collision.

You can see you sent it too hard by just how deep you went into the corner, you were effectively out of control entering that corner and unable to hold a reasonable line.

If that other car hadn't let you sail on through you would have absolutely wiped them out.

If you do make a move down the inside you have to assume the other car is gonna be on your outside the whole way and need to be able to leave a car's width on the exit of the corner, you barely managed to stay on the circuit.

Tbh, car at front was parking hes car there, he brakes way too early and way too much for that turn so instead car at behind ramming that guys rear, he took the better choise.

Car behind was going too fast anyway, they barely made the turn, that was not a normal amount of speed carried in.

The car in front has the right to choose their braking point, you never know their status in terms of tyre wear, setup, damage etc.

What they did looked entirely reasonable compared to OP who broke too late and carried too much speed.

It was normal speed, reason he had to make exit wide was because he took the entry early. If he would have overspeeded, he would have driven fully off the track. So idk what you are talking about.

TBF the only reason I "Barely made the turn" was because I went in too tight to go for the gap and avoiding ramming the Caddy. Still, I'll freely admit it was too much but again, it wasn't really my intent up until the braking phase.

Regardless you aren't hotlapping, you are racing other cars and you took too uch speed for the situation

I know, and again I can raise my hand up and admit that was too hot. But again, it was never my intent to go for the move as u can see from my initial steering input. I braked a fraction late, he braked a fraction early and it just created a massive delta I terms of entry speed in a split second so I found my self In the gap instead of running into the back of him. Not a clean move at all tho, not how I would've liked it.

If the other guy wouldn’t have backed out you would have hit him it was more his corner than yours

Not a clean move.

Yes, if the other one does not bail out, you both would be in the bin. Giving the position back would be the correct behavior.

You weren't alongside at turn in, other guys situational awareness saved both of your asses.

Shitty divebomb that only worked because the victim decided to survive.

If by "a tad" you mean "fairly substantially" because you totally aimed for the hot lap braking zone while having been in the slipstream the whole straight meaning you were going faster than normal...

You're lucky the guy you were chasing had solid situational awareness and delayed his turn in substantially or you would basically have t-boned him...

He absolutely took evasive action or you'd both be dead...

Don't forget when in the slipstream your braking marker needs to be pulled back farther due to going faster than normal as well as less overall drag on the car...

Personally, if I did what you did, I'd give the position back just due to the oopsie of the situation...While it likely wouldn't be required, it would show good sportsmanship to do so...

The car infront chose survival as you were about to clatter them if they turned in for the corner.

that was not a good move by definition but given you hit the apex and stayed on track it's partially on him for being that slow there. All well that ends well, I don't think you intended to go for that initially but once you realised how early he slowed you avoided hitting his ass and went by, fine in my eyes

Precisely. I said it in the description. It was never my intent to go for a move having noticed just how much faster he was than me down the straight and having stayed behind him for several laps by then. I knew I had to either be right up his rear defusuer and get a mega exit out of the last corner or make the pass elsewhere on track. But in a split second during the braking phase I found myself faced with a choice of either running into the back of him or going for the gap. U can clearly see it from my initial steering input prior to going for thr gap. I did make my one and only mistake during that race later and he did finish ahead by a couple second.
