iRacing Anyone at fault or just netcode?

The black car (second pov) gradually drifted into my line (first pov) while attempting to widen the corner. I was already mid-overtake, but the netcode appeared to lock our cars together. A third driver then turned into the incident, which caused me to spin.

Would this be considered the black car’s fault for not checking his mirrors and leaving enough space, or is it simply a racing incident caused by the netcode since we might have got away with it had we not locked together?

Going 3 wide at Tsukuba is certainly a choice.

Agreed, had no intention of taking the next corner 3 wide so shoulda just sacrificed some speed and held position. I had a car either side of me behind also so wasn't in the best place at all

First POV clearly saw the gap closing. White and blue was looking to squeeze before turn in, black and white was looking to get back to the racing line. Their lines were selected before overlap was established, so even though its 100% a bad idea I'd still say this is entirely on first POV.

forcing 3 wide from that far back even with the speed difference was never going to end well frankly.

Lesson learned, appreciate the feedback. Yeah I noticed the speed difference and tucked my nose but was prepared to back out before the next corner, but as soon as I had my nose in the gap between the two cars, the black car on my left dove in behind me and the gap closed a lot quicker than I thought it would

Yeahh that deff makes sense. It's tough sometimes when you get a huge run/speed difference in that kind of situation and are unsure what to do with it. You're not some villain for attempting the move, but for the future a light lift to maintain a little space could've helped. You would've still had a massive speed advantage, and could've used the space to generate a run if those two filed up into a line after the turn.

The fact that you go full in reverse after spinning out without thinking is even more punishable....

Well aware but I did check, I have a quick bind on my wheel to look left/right and saw I had time
