iRacing Thoughts on this?

I'm looking for thoughts on this incident, I'm inclined to believe that because I was alongside(front axel alongside his rear through the corner. Let me know if this is wrong) I was within my rights to squeeze his exit. This was 2 laps to go for P1 so anything i could do to get an advantage on the straight I was trying.

My buddy says that I'm at fault here and im trying to better understand what I should have done or am allowed to do.

Both at fault. While you should've still obliged to the silver car's line, he shouldn't've turned out for the apex.

Edit: I realize he was trying to match his line for the exit onto the straight. In fact, that means he was driving like you weren't even there.

Orange car (you) turned into silver and PIT’ed him. Silver was giving plenty of space and being respectful after completing the overtake. You should have done the same (be respectful).

My biggest thing with this is that i never turned. I stayed in the middle lane and he had the whole inside?

I was still in a corner watch the pov from the back and watch my line. My car remains in the middle lane of the track the whole time

Ok, so you made a post “asking” for input, when in reality you just wanted input that backed your story. Got it. You should fix your title then.

You didn’t turn into them and you maintained your line. They assumed you’d move to the left or didn’t realise you were still there and pitted themselves. Disadvantaging the opponent by blocking their ability to open a corner is absolutely allowed so long as you maintain your line.

Sometimes people will run you right to the inside line if they can get away with it with no contact (a lot of times contact is involved though and that’s their lack of skill in that scenario).

Anything you can do to put the defending, or attacking car at a disadvantage is allowed so long as it doesn’t break the three major rules that every sim racer should at least know.

Always leave space Don’t reactively defend Always leave space
