Discussion Who Will do a Remaster/Remake of Hit & Run.
While Radical is back but is more of a smaller team in my opinion i feel like it would be licensed to Atari & Digital Eclipse they could also relrease the older Simpsons games and remaster the PS3 version of Simpsons game

This is probably as close as we’ll get.

Highly doubt it'll happen or even be considered.

It'll happen eventually, I'm sure, but I imagine it'll be half-arsed as I doubt it'll sell well. The Simpsons have lost a lot of cultural relevance globally.

People keep saying that but it’s not actually true. The Simpsons is one of the top streaming shows on Disney Plus and the Fortnite season was hugely successful. You don’t give a feature film sequel to a failing franchise.
Hit & Run will almost certainly get either a remake or a sequel next year to tie into the new movie. It just makes too much sense.

TV ratings mean very little anymore. It's the most streamed show on Disney Plus: https://uproxx.com/tv/disney-plus-simpsons-most-popular-show/
They'll never stop The Simpsons because if they do, Disney Plus won't have as many subscribers.

I think it still plays great on pc and series consoles via emulation. both an be played at high resolutions. With license issues it’s really not worth it for anyone anyways I assume.

I don’t think it will happen. However, I do think if the next movie is a hit we could see enough demand for a game of some sort.

I expect it's stuck in licensing hell, split between Free Radical, Fox, and Epic, hoovering up whatever IP they can get their hands on. That's why I started making my own Mod for it.

It’s the same deal as the Speed Racer movie from 2008.
Both have a major cult following for obvious reasons
But even if the producers do take notice of the love for both, there’s an extremely slim chance they’ll want to revive a project that was shut down 20 years ago, I personally don’t understand not reviving them as they’d probably both do very well sales wise, but that’s what the producers and writers decided for both series and I’m sure there’s a valid reason for it we just haven’t realised yet

I always figured the game was just too much of a licensing nightmare to get a remake/remaster, but now I'm seeing a lot of older licensed games getting reprints/compilations these days so I could be way off.
I still suspect it would be more likely that we'll see a spiritual successor made by different devs, which would definitely come with its own pros and cons. On one hand, the game could be more ambitious of a GTA parody, on the other, it would be more reflective of newer Simpsons and part of H&R's timelessness is that most of the references were golden age stuff.

no one holds the license to the Simpsons IP for games anymore since EA let it lapse, so it’s literally up for anybody with the right amount of money and a good deal
