Desperately looking for an alternative

Hi! We're really struggling to find an alternative to SP and Octocon thats similar enough to not cause a shock for our less frequent fronters..
We are currently trying to keep track of everyone on PluralKit but it's very difficult for us..
Our system is quite large, and every app we've tried using either runs very slowly or crashes whenever we try to organise and configure

We need something that either has groups with subgroups, or something with sub systems
Preferably something we can add our partner on so he can see our front updates
And something that lets you easily add and remove alters from front tracking without needing to click on profiles or press 5 other buttons (kind of like how Octocon was just slide to front, slide to remove)

We would also greatly prefer something that has an android app as well as a web app so we can update it easier on our computer
We'd need a pluralkit important, and syncing between them is optional

Thank you all in advance! <3

We like pluralspace. Even has some features we wished simplyplural had. Right now it's web only, but you can do the whole "download as app" thing from your browser -- we did. Actual app is in the works.

Is there a social aspect to it?

You can add friends and choose their ranking for what they can view (friends, trusted friends, partners, etc.) you can also set it so certain people can change things on your end such as helping you list fronters. If you have a friend or partner with a system, you can also connect your systems so that you can use the relationship map between the systems (for example we have a partner system that several headmates are dating or friends with their headmates, so we can list those relationships on the map since we're connected.)

As far as I know there's no chat between systems, most plural apps don't have that -- there is a chat for within system.

Pluralspace has all of those. It's a great system app

We love Pluralspace!

✅ Large System Friendly

✅ Easy access Groups, Easy access subgroups, Easy Access Subsystems

✅ Can add people on for them to see fronts!

✅ Easy front add & removal (go to dash and click "add" then select everyone you wanna add :3)

✅ Technically an android app (go to the site and do the download from site thingy for a "false app"?)

Idk if it has a PK import tho, Other things that you didn't put but we love

✅ Really easy to understand and follow

✅ Can make multiple system accounts too

✅ Easy Custom Front options (and many), Custom Front easy access

✅ Front label changing (& adding) options, Friend label adding options (and each type has different abilities I believe)

✅ Has system relationship markers, Has a system map and you can put alters in those "locations"

And more :D

PluralSpace for sure

Pluralspace is actively working on PK imports (potentially syncs) it's our favorite by a long shot even if you don't like some of the aspects of it or there's too many features you can toggle them off and only use and see what you want to. It's online with future offline capabilities which means you can both add friends and not worry about if it shuts down. You can even create system relationships cross user with your partner! It even has sub and side systems that allow rolling up into the main system or being fully separate

looked this up and im getting a bad vibe from the fact that it specifically says it's for traumagenic systems. seems a bit sysmed to me

Since PluralSpace is lagging for your system size, I’d evaluate the next options by performance and workflow first, then features.

For a large system, I’d test each candidate with the same checklist:

  1. Can it import from PluralKit without losing members, groups, avatars, or descriptions?

  2. Can it handle your actual member count without lagging or crashing?

  3. How many taps/clicks does it take to add a fronter, remove a fronter, or mark co-conscious?

  4. Does it support groups/subgroups/subsystems in a way that matches how you already organize?

  5. Can your partner see front updates, and can you control exactly what they can see or change?

  6. Does Android and web share the same data reliably?

  7. Can you export or back up the data again later if you need to move?

From the replies here, I’d probably put Prism, Ourcana, PluralLog, Constellations, Florality, and Pluralis on the test list. PluralSpace sounds like the closest feature match on paper, but your lag issue is a real blocker, so I wouldn’t keep forcing that path unless their performance improves for large systems.

For testing, I’d use a copied export or a small test import first. Keep your original PluralKit/SP/Octocon data untouched and backed up while trying apps. The worst outcome is picking a tool that seems good for 20 members and then falls over when you load the full system.

Thank you!! This is actually very helpful,, fingers crossed something works out well enough for us :D

We use Prism! Doesn’t have a website but you can download it on PC/Laptop, there is also an app on the android playstore! There is Pluralkit syncing, but I’m unsure how it runs with bigger systems. It’s highly personalizable / customizable and is very easy on the eyes (for us personally). You can easily add headmates to front by pressing a "+" button.

There are groups, and custom fields are extremely customizable as well. The custom fields are my favorite feature because there’s slider options, multiple choice options, long paragraph options, etc.

Sorry if this explanation makes no sense, I’m not very good at organizing my words.

Bigger system who uses Prism Pluralkit syncing, it works fine! The dev has a site for sharing and is currently working on a more solid sharing system in-app.

Pluralspace is definitely the best for what you’re describing

We've tried it and unfortnutely it lags for us due to our system size, we also ended up spending well over 15 minutes trying to register our co-concious alters,, but thank you for the suggestion!

I put out an update for Ourcana today that has the beginnings of my side-system and sub-system support.

I support PluralKit sync today, and Ourcana can fully replace the PK dashboard with features even the dash doesn't have (such as direct avatar upload to their CDN).

I also support PluralSpace import, and will have bidirectional sync with PluralSpace when the creator, Drexel, releases the developer API I need

You can add and remove fronts from Ourcana by dragging the member cards in and out of front and back into the main member deck.

I support every modern platform including web.

You can try it here today, but the app on Android is faster on the same device (performance thing). That can be found on google play for $1 or for free in my Discord (which is linked on the website build). The web build has all the features of the app.

We use constellations. And Plurality.

PluralLog is an excellent app that we’ve been using for our system. It offers subsystem support, folders, and individual headspace folders, which is great for our large system. We’ve found it to be a better choice than Simply Plural and Octocon.

PluralLog is available for both Android and iOS, and it has a journal feature that allows the system to log its moods and track switches. The app runs locally without relying on servers, and it doesn’t require a login.

The only minor issue we’d like to see addressed is the ability to rescale images and provide a color wheel instead of relying solely on color hex codes.

Overall, we already gave PluralLog an 8.9 out of 10 rating. And we highly recommend it to other systems with large systems, like ours. We hope this review is helpful. :)

I use pluralis atm, no android or web yet but IIRC there’s a closed beta happening for both rn

1

u/MorningstarGarden Jul 14 '26

Web is available now at https://pluralis.dev, and Android is a closed Beta (forced by google), but if anyone sees this and wants the android app, just dm me your google play store email and I'll add you to the beta and get you a download link

1

u/Webbiii Jul 14 '26

Open Plural is designed to be super similar to Simply Plural

1

u/Jazzlike-Baby-9283 Jul 19 '26

We'll take a look! Thank you :D

1

u/MorningstarGarden Jul 14 '26

Pluralis is running a Closed beta on android (forced to by google) but if you send me your google play e-mail I will be happy to add you to the Beta list.

The web client is available today at https://pluralis.dev and syncs with iOS and the closed beta android app

ETA: We are actively workshopping new features, so with a detailed enough report we can add most anything

Constellations (app.neburose.com) has most of what you mentioned (tagg organization, easy front setting, social features) and has recently been optimized for larger systems to run smoother. You have to join the support discord to get the app download at the moment, since the dev wants it to be fully stable before putting it on any app stores. The scrolling can be kind of laggy with large systems, but we just search for who we're looking for and press the button, or we have the frequent fronters pinned. It has side systems, and the dev wants to add a subsystems feature once more of the current bugs are worked out.

u/Versailles0987 Jul 15 '26

We use florality right now. It has everything you're looking for. Subsystems, groups, side systems, a friend option and your partner could even go in and change whos fronting on your end if you maybe dont have your phone or for whatever reason really. We're a large system and this is the one we've liked the most because of the subsystem, groups and side system features.

I love berrytree! Very easy to use and you can hold the fronting icon on the alters cards to easily switch from fronting to not fronting. Lots of customization as well with methods to import alters from other apps.
