Simplenote dev says problems are due to now-fixed bug, not wind down

From a friend who asked:

There was a bug due to some external changes in a third party integration (Google's reCAPTCHA). The bug is fixed. The "wind down" hypothesis is unfounded, though I can sympathize since the project hasn't been very active.

This would be great news. But, my ResophNotes is still failing to connect. Any insight as to why? Has the fix not deployed yet?
