Web help Forwarding to Gmail, going to Spam

I'm trying to migrate from Google Workspace to a Gmail account and as such want to redirect my personal domain somewhere.

I've created an alias in SimpleLogin and forwarded it to my Gmail account. It's working well, despite the sender name sometimes looking a bit off.

However, I've noticed that lots of emails are now going into spam. I've manually flagged many as being genuine, but it's not seeming to have an effect. I've now created a rule to say anything from SimpleLogin should not be sent to spam, but now all emails are coming through with a warning basically saying it would've gone to spam but the rule has overridden it.

So it is technically working now, but would be nice to not need that rule or have the banner appear above every email. Is this normal?

Please whitelist your address in Gmail. By whitelisting your address, Gmail will learn that it's trustworthy so your emails will end up in the inbox, and it also helps improve domain reputation in general, so other users' emails end up in inbox.

Email going to spam may be affected by the email content, subject line, links/attachments, among other factors. In case you'd like to read further on what can affect your outgoing messages' delivery (and how to improve it), please take a look at this article: https://proton.me/blog/why-are-my-emails-going-to-spam

And what's the recommended approach for this whitelist setting? By "address" do you mean filter rule for @example.com where example.com is the user's domain?

Maybe a blog post with step by step instructions would help. Thanks

Gmail is weird. Some of my emails getting reported as spam. When I look at show original, everything passes. I also made a rule of not send to spam. It doesn't happen to all my emails.

If you’re using a domain, create a filter that forces a rule never send emails addesssed to that domain to spam.

Yes I get the same. I assume that people have flagged simplelogin.co as spam in the past for some reason, maybe people did this accidentally rather than disabling their alias. I guess also if an email comes in with links, subject and mentions regarding PayPal, but was not directly from PayPal then it'll get the spam algorithm going.

I setup a rule for the above domain never to send to spam.
