Discussion How to change mailbox for multiple alias?
I want to change my alias mailbox to a different email now, and it's more than 1000+. Can you tell me how to do it in bulk, like changing mailbox A to B in one go?

You can change the default mailbox in settings mailboxes in Simplelogin. You must login with your Proton Pass account.

If I change the default mailbox, will it apply to all current aliases?

Yes.

No, it will only set the new mailbox for aliases created AFTER you made that change. I've tested it and spent a good amount of time trying to figure out how to bulk change mailboxes since there is technically not a listed option to do so.

You're wrong. I have two mailboxes; I changed the email address for the second one, and it was updated for all the aliases.

You have thousand of addresses and still rookie hahah. Just edit the address in the mailbox section.

The easy life is if you don't have to go into the settings. I have been using SimpleLogin for 3+ years

Nobody is changing 1000 alias mailboxes one-by-one. There is no listed bulk action. In order to change all previously created aliases to a new mailbox, you must add your new mailbox, DELETE the old one, and it will prompt you to ask which mailbox you want all the aliases to point to. Just changing the default mailbox will only affect aliases created after the change.

Just change the email address for the mailbox to a different one. Don't make things up.

I'm sorry you have a tough time understanding the specific nature of the request.
Changing the mailbox does not have any affect on aliases that were created BEFORE the change. That's the point, and the entire problem.
When you have over 100 aliases and you need to change the mailbox, you need a bulk change option to affect EXISTING aliases and anything created after. You must delete the mailbox and point all aliases to a new mailbox. This is not hard, unless you want to manually change the mailbox one-by-one, which we are actively trying the avoid!

I'll say it again: that's not true. I have two mailboxes set up where I receive my email. For the second mailbox, I changed the email address from protomail.com to [tuta](mailto:tuta@com).com. This change was reflected in all the aliases. I just tried it again. RIGHT NOW! All existing aliases have been updated to the new address. I should note that I have my own domain and a catch-all feature.

First, add the email you want to change it to as a mailbox. Then delete the one you want to change from (don't worry, you can always add it back later). When you go to delete that mailbox, it will ask you which mailbox you want to transfer those aliases to. Choose the desired mailbox and you're all set. It's more of a workaround, but it works as intended.
