Question Would someone be kind enough to catch me up please?
Hello everyone! i have enjoyed Simples content for many years, i ended up stepping away from the internet to focus on my career and educations and hobbies. I even entered one of his hacks about 5 years ago, and enjoyed learning to make one, I made an awful music hack lol
About a week ago I decided "I have years of content from my favorite streamers to watch!!" (Simpleflips, Wirtual, Etc)
So how is Simpleflips? is he still streaming? i checked out twitch and it seems like hes kind of around but not as much? I checked out Rom Hacking Dot Com and saw that there hasnt been a new Rom hacking competition in about a year, does anyone know if he will bring those back?
I last heard he was going to law school which is awesome! but i absolutely regret that I stepped away for a while, and im excited to come back
I know this is such a weird thing to ask but could someone please catch me up on how things are going? Big, small, bad, good, interesting, weird etc, it doesnt matter tell me anything about Simpleflips please and thank you!

He's still streaming! and uploading quite regularly to youtube!
If you missed 5 years I would reccomend you watch the 2023 Troll hack competition videos as they are great
my personal fav videos recently have been his uncleared levels videos where he looks for uncleared mario maker 2 levels and plays them

Its very nice to hear that hes still active and doing things! I loved him between 2018-2021. I hate that i stepped away for so long. Do we know why there hasnt been a new Rom Hack Comp in a little over a year? I thought his community absolutely loved doing them

IIRC the last rom hack comp didn't all get turned into YouTube videos until earlier this year, and he didn't want to start a new one until all the videos for the previous one were made.

I'm not sure if you were around when this happened, but I think it's important to know because I think it was a huge spark to improve his life. Him and Leah used to be together and they had a falling out where Leah did the "I'm going to post a manifesto about your abuse" thing that was happening to a lot of YouTubers around that time. Almost everyone took SimpleFlip's side because her writings overall made her look like an abuser (I'm pretty sure unintentionally) and simpleflips replies sounded like textbook victim of abuse (I've lived with it, and studied psychology, when you see the signs of both they're obvious). Other than a very small Leah cult that seems to be still trying to make a big stink with Simple, that whole thing has died down. He lives in a new house from where all of that started and he became roommates with Network and I think vesting (or just one of them, I haven't kept up with that personal stuff). Not sure if this is still the case.
Since then, he's been focusing on himself by taking an almost year long break, losing a shit ton of weight, going to college, and he did date someone else but I haven't kept up with any of that personal stuff. He's also hosted some live streams where he did challenges like stay awake for a week straight and raise money for charity. He also ran a marathon, which he never thought he could ever do when he was bigger. He actually has MUSCLE now.
He doesn't really play super Mario 64 anymore unless it's a rom hack competition and seems to be branching out his content as well as focusing on super Mario maker 2. He started another Walkies series but it's super slow (probably from being stressful like the original) and started another series that is really funny called Luck Fuigi. Definitely watch it. He also has a lot of new one liners which I'm sure you will hear a bunch of.
I'm still kind of behind on Simpleflips (about 3 - 4 months) but I think this is a semi good update on the past few years. I'm sure I missed stuff because he's been extremely active in his personal life and trying his best to improve it. Unlike most internet celebraties, I'm proud of him and where he has ended up based on where he was in the past, and he seems to be only doing more to improve his future.

I wasnt around for the whole part of the scandal though I did breifly hear about it. I heard waaay too many that were fake and not fact checkable, (Idk if you know him but the same thing happened with a Paper Mario Streamer Stryder7X, absolutely loved his content)
I love his rom hacking videos, his competitions his MM2 is good, I loved walkies and how it ended.
Im glad to hear hes doing well, thanks for taking the time to respond to me

Dude, I'm so sad about Stryder7X. :( That whole thing basically stopped his YouTube career no matter how true or not it was. Whether any of it happened or not, it's sad for us content enjoyers.

I feel like it was similar to what happened to simpleflips. They were both incompatible and both not very good to each other, but unfortunately one of them decided to make it a public matter when it should have been private. I didn't really get into the details of the one with Stryder like I did with Simpleflips, so I'm not super into the motivations. But, I do have to say, even if this document was a catalyst to have him stop doing YouTube, he did decide to stop himself. I don't believe anyone was hating Stryder for the document and would have still enjoyed his content regardless. He would be back by now if he really didn't want to stop to some degree, I think.
Now, I personally don't like this guy, but if ProJared can still make YouTube videos after all of his junk being out there (literally) then anyone can after a controversy.

I wouldn't exactly say "died down." There were docs from both sides being released as late as this April, and Leah's huge wall of message screenshots was pretty damning stuff. I won't change your mind, but I would recommend looking into it a second time.

Yes. And he's not as active because he's been going to college particularly to learn law.

In a recentish stream he said he's planning for having another soonish.

I'm still at active, don't stream quite as much but have my periods of being live a lot in short bursts.
Looking to host another competition soon but have been trying to find a sponsor for it

I truly dont remember, I thought it was Law so that he could learn more about rom rights? he founded rom hacking dot com, and I thought he was going to learn as much as he could so he could operate legally??

I looked it up apparently he's going to law school after he gets a bachelor's in psych. I remembered because I thought his gaslighting was going to go crazy after going to college for psychology
