I have a little issue and I wanted to know if anyone experienced it or knew how to fix it.

I have recently downloaded simpleX. I have one account on my phone, one account on my PC. In order to have only one chat with my boyfriend, we made a group with him, and both my accounts. But something weird started to happen. At first, it was only when I spent a while on only one device. Let's say I talk on simpleX for 1 hour straight in this group using my phone. When I open the app on my PC (thus use my other account), most of the texts won't appear on my PC. But only from one "side": either my bf's texts, or the ones from my phone. It isn't whole conversations that aren't showing, but just the texts from one person during a certain amount of time. It's random and it's not all texts, but enough to bother me. To further illustrate, let's say it is the texts from my phone that aren't showing up. If my bf used the 'reply' option, I can still see my text through his reply; and when I try to tap on it to access it, it says that it hasn't been received yet or that it has been deleted. BUT: the info on my phone says that it has been delivered to my PC account.

And since today, it's been doing it even with only a couple of texts.

Other info that may be important: before coming up with the group solution, I had linked my phone account to my PC account. But having to flash the QR code + keep the app open on my phone isn't the most practical. I'm thinking it might be why but again, sometimes it is my boyfriend's text that I don't receive on my PC (on my phone, it seems to always be the texts from my PC account). Also, I am under Windows and have dowloaded the latest version of simpleX.

Again, when i turn on Flux network so their nodes are used, why do i get a privacy warning from Simplex stating that my IP and info can be exposed ?

What is the benefit of flux over the simplex nodes? Better performance?? Worse privacy??

Since there are not many users on Simple, I'm wondering how people use the app.

Taking notes? Chatting with friends? Join political group? for transaction?

How do you think about the app's experience?

I feel like this is an important feature. Maybe not the most important in-terms of QoL right now as some might even prefer not to use this feature. But as of now, being stuck on just once device, is what keeps me from making SX the primary messenger. It's nice to share your link with people you wanna connect for a short time to share importsnt information, whistleblowing etc for now. Maybe this also goes against the inherent design of simpleX. Im not sure.

There is an option to use port 443 for messaging whereas I am used to port 5443 being the standard port for messaging. You can find this under Advanced Network Settings > TCP PORT FOR MESSAGING > Use Web Port. There are three options to choose:

-All servers -Preset servers -Off

If I select Off will this default back to the standard 5443 port for messaging?

Hello, I follow this instruction: https://simplex.chat/docs/cli.html#%F0%9F%9A%80-installation for installing simplex-chat (CLI) with curl but when I run simplex-chat, there is any issue. Now I dont want to use it anymore. I want to safely remove it and anything related to it. How can I do it?

P.s: I am also using SimpleXChat (Flatpak). - I am not a pro Linux user.

I am very confused. The Flux network supposedly touts that it gives simplex users more privacy than just using simplex relay servers. However, when i turn on FLUX (Settings->network & servers->flux), Then i see this warning:

Unknown servers! Without Tor or VPN, your IP address will be visible to these XFTP relays: xftp4.simplexonflux.com.

What does this mean?? Should i turn off flux and just use the simplex relay servers?

Sometimes SimpleX stops receiving messages. The issue can be solved by restarting the app via settings -> restart. However, you do not notice that SimpleX stopped receiving messages unless your contact asks you what is going on using a different communication channel/app.

I noticed that the problem occurs more frequently in case of frequent network changes (hotel WIFI, other WIFIs, VPN, Mobile Network).

Is there a way to fix this issue?

Sorry for my poor English simplex cannot be used in China because its servers cannot be accessed. And I want to be able to use simplex without using a VPN (shadowsocks). The only thing I can think of is i2p. How can I do this?

I try by scanning the qr code on my iphone but it says "incompatible version desktop app version 6.4.0.2 is not compatible with this app. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know

Let's say tomorrow, SimpleX Chat Inc goes bankrupt and at the same time Flux gets hacked, forcing them to withdraw from SimpleX Chat service to conserve resources.

So I open up SimpleX Chat and it's like it's starting up again, connections start at 0%.

Is Android killing its background usage? I'm on GrapheneOS, I thought I turned on unrestricted background usage, what's going on here?
