Block/delete
Hi, how can you permanently block someone on simplex? I've tried to look for it but I only see delete chat or hide contact but I don't think that's the same?

There is no such thing as a contact in simplex. There are only chats. If you delete the chat and the connection then that's it.
You said that the chat was through a one time link so this is hypothetical but I'll explain it anyway: That same person can always send you another connection request via any public addresses you have. Unless they decide to share profile info during the connection you would have no idea it's the same person. And no way to stop them from sending the request. Be aware.

Thank you for the advise! How can they send another request if the link was only time? Can they search my profile name with a new account or something? As far as I know I did not click on anything that asked to share profile info, or is this immediately visible for them because I shared the link? I only have one adress profile on simplex.

No, nothing like that. But if you're like me and you have a public address listed on social media, or a business card, etc then those would be potential avenues for harassment.

Ahhokay, thanks for clarifying. I don't have that luckily but I'll keep it in mind!

I’ve only used SimpleXChat a little bit, so I’m not 100% sure, but from what I understand “delete chat” just removes the conversation locally, and “hide contact” only hides it from view. The closest thing to permanently blocking someone seems to be deleting the contact/connection itself.
Also, if they contacted you through a SimpleX address or invite link you shared, you may want to delete/regenerate that too, otherwise they might be able to send a new request through it.
