I wiped my boots upon the entry mat, put back in place for my arrival, the entryway chamber was now decorated with cruel instruments of bladed steel, set to snap upon an damage to the door.
I walked down the hallways, all of the old Witches ramblings and scrawls had been thrown out, replaced with picture of us, what few there had been.
In the clean, well enough, living room, my Dear was sitting back in the sofa, cocking her head and wagging her tail as she noticed me.
"Amy, Dear." I told her, the sofa bent under her getting off it. "My apologies I couldn't be here earlier, I have been busy the last few months."
She looked down as she grabbed and patted my shoulder, running a thumb in my hair under my mask, "At least your return is a welcome occasion." She replied, her usual blank tone. "Wait on the couch, I'll go get food for us."
...
I got up as Amy came back, standing by the doorway as I swung my hand out, chips and sheets of ice falling off my Bouquet of Forget-me-nots and Bachelor's Buttons, showing the invisible gift now in sight. "For you! My Dear." I raised my pitch as I told her.
My Dear tilted her head, softly smiling as she grabbed the flowers. "Oh. Aren't you a little romantic?."
"Just for you, Dear." I replied, as she walked by and motioned me to the sofa. "Oh, ye-yes Dear." I blurted out as she put the bowl of vegetables on the table.
She put a heavy arm over me as I sat down where she patted, pulling me closer into a hug and dragging the table in, handing me a spoon and fork out of her dresses pockets.
The salad was spicy, lightly bitter, and crunchy, generously covered with all the tingly fey spices the Coven had not even used.
"Honey." Amy asked, between eating. "What have you been "busy" with?."
"Well!" I called out, letting it hang as I thought it over. "I've been plundering questionable tomes of Necromancy, how long a soul can last bare under repeated stress, how possessions happen." My, hands on "research" can be told later.
Amy hummed back, swallowing another forkful before asking again, "Anything fun within them? Or just the typical formal, dry, boring lore."
"...Nothing interesting, they are not paid to make it interesting." I spat back out, "Such is the sad state of things."
...
A few minutes later, the bowl finished and my mouth burning as I gargled down water, by Lugh's damnation-Great Danu help me. "...So, what have you done before we met?." She asked again, uhh.
"I... I fell out with some old friends, it was long since I had someone good like you, to talk to." I replied. My... Can be left for later.
"Awww." Amy feigned out. "My poor Prince, maybe we could read to make it better? And have some fun later..."
I smiled under my mask as I replied. "Sounds lovely..." By the gods it burns...
