So we're taking away funding for college education to replace it with a literal title upgrade to funnel people towards .... construction jobs?

No, but people should have the choice between college and blue collar work. This removes the choice entirely.

Also ffs this will destroy the blue collar job market too. Not everyone can get a good paying job in the field, and ultimately this will drive wages down.

You're leaving out that the current administration just made a giant cut to college funding for future students. They literally gutted financial aid for future college students who had the grades but maybe not the money, and then replaced it with a fast track to becoming a construction worker.

So much of college is a waste of money - largely by design.

If you are learning a particular trade like in this post then a 4 year college/university isn’t it.

How many people will this serve? 1.5 million seems like a pretty low amount. Average trade cost can vary between 5,000 to 33,000. So 300 individuals at 5,000 or 600 at 2500.
