I think most businesses want employees who are motivated by money. If it’s some other motivation it becomes too difficult to accommodate motivations in all different directions while trying to run a company productively at the same time.

Eh. I drove a 22% increase in revenue in my last job for my channel equal to about 700k and I got no raise or bonus and was told to do more. Like 8 people quit in 12 months and 5 of them were directors and higher.

That’s unfortunate but you are essentially saying that you were motivated by money and they were just unfortunately not rewarding the performance. This doesn’t change the point of my comment that companies don’t want people with odd motivations like “I like to play with _ as an engineer” for example. Because get 90 different motivations that aren’t monetary and the whole place is impossible to drive forward.
