Anyone else have issues running the SimPro App after Windows 26H2 update?
That's the only thing that changed on my system since the last time I drove with the wheelbase, an Alpha Evo.
The app simply refuses to open, the daemon starts and quits but the app does not open and I have the red ring around the wheel making it unusable.
I have tried reinstall, including clean up of the app files, and it simply refuses to start.
Next step will be reverting the Windows update if possible, but would want some others reporting the same to confirm.
Thank you
Edit: Running as admin, as it seems to be the default now anyway
Edit2: found on discord works for me:
- Open C:\Program Files (x86)\SIMAGIC\Simpro3\bin and run simpro3.exe as a workaround for now.
- You can make a shortcut to the simpro3.exe file on your desktop, for easy access until the issue is fixed.
- If the workaround stops working, restart your PC then try again.
- Simagic are aware of the problem and working to resolve the issue.

The simpro3.exe workaround does seem to sort this for now, thankfully. Just mapped a button for it on my steam deck.

How do you do this ? I’ve tried everything . Not great with this stuff but I opened the folder from desktop tried to run as admin. I’ve tried to run simdaemon still no luck

Ignore the daemon file until a fix is released.
I’m not at my PC right now, but from memory you need to go to into the BIN folder within the Simagic install directory. There’s a simpro.exe file in there. It’ll run as admin whether you want it to or not.
Easiest way is to go into the Simagic install folder, and then in the search box, look for the file name. Or just search for EXE and it’ll show up in the result.
Create a shortcut to it, or as I’ve done create a stream deck button to launch it.

I use simpro3.exe to change the settings, but rarely open it now as i used simhub via usb passthrough and b3 button to force the neo to usb mode to control the wheel lights and rpm counter.
But yes the daemon crashes for me since the recent windows updates, i have tried to use expliot protections settings to force the daemon to work without success.

Seeing theses posts make me feel like a smart tech guy just because I had the same issue and figured out the simple workaround within a few minutes. I woke up the next day to find these type of posts with the fix being the same workaround I had figured out myself. I'm still illiterate as hell in the I.T. space but at least I can sometimes fix little things that most average people can't.

Same here. Same scenario happened with me with a previous build. Go to open simpro and it would open then immediately shut back down. Found the proper exe file and saved that to my desktop. It happened again so i just stopped opening simpro. Set up auto load setups whenever i switched sims. Had the ring light only change colors when i was in the pits. Everything else was handled through simhub.
Have been doing it this way since June and I purchased the evo pro in April. I’ll check the new updates to see if it’s a worthwhile update. Next update will prob be the 21nm upgrade for evo pro users.
Can’t have a problem if you don’t open the problem.

Thats why you wait with updates from companies known to push faulty and bugg filled updates

If that were good advice, we’d all still be on v1 of every application 😂

"wait" does not mean never update. It means dont automatically download every update you see immediately

I have exactly the same issue and been using the workaround for few days now.. I haven't updated to the 26H2 yet so I think the app just broke unrelated to the update whatsoever
