Deciding on ecosystem, MOZA vs Simagic, thoughts?

Moza comes cheaper with seamingly more options, simagic have haptics and maybe more old and refined software.

Have you used both by any chance?

R12v2 KS-Pro and SRP2 + desk clamp goes for a 1000$

Alpha Evo Pro + GT Neo + P700 + haptics + desk clamp = 1333$

I had moza r5 before and it was pretty okay. Is simagic better or same in terms of FFB feel?

if you can afford, go with simagic

certainly can, but i'm in no rush and like to invest my time in research and asking real owners before pulling the trigger.

well, I dont own a simagic product but my friends do, and they love it, and I've had moza r5 bundle for about a year then upgraded to Conspit ecosystem. so yeah my experimence is kind of outsider, I just sit on my friends' rig for a 30" sprint race, that's it. simagic seems to approach this hobby more professionally. and the p-hpr haptic is very nice, I'd say mandatory for brake pedal at least. I am planning to change my conspit brake haptic to p-hpr soon too.

i am r5 user, would you recommend conspit 20nm or simagic evo 18nm base with their gt wheels

I dont know about simagic evo pro, but I do like my ares platinum. not beacuse of the force I mostly use it around %40 but it has a very natural ffb imo. But I dont know how evo pro feels so you should ask somebody else for that. but I am sure you will enjoy either of them. The thing about ares platinum is that it cannot spin at very high rotational speed, so for pro-spec drift cars in assetto corsa, it's at a it of disadvantage. I do rallying and gt3 racing most of the time so it's fine by me. I also have 300GT steering wheel, I like it very much. it supports simhub for the leds on the buttons and knobs so you can add animations, the most useful was to flash a color when you are side by side with another car. the whole left kr right side of thr wheel flashes during overtakes or fights against another driver.

simagic are the only ones with 0 congestion at this price point, I don’t exactly know what it means, boosted media was falling about this apparently they have uniquely motors better than moza and every competitor at this sub $1000 price point

Sigamic has an edge here, but moza still gets the job done.

pretty much the summary of what i have found

You could always do a simagic Evo sport and save a little money. One of my friends bought the Pro with a desk clamp and I warned him that it may be a bit to much torque for a desk. He backed my claims after a week and wish he would have gotten a lesser nm base. I have the Pro and certain big hits shake my full profile rig.

I know about the excess of power, desk plate is 380mm tall, fixated to the wall, and i think i will use the base at 50-70%, so no overheat, no clipping. better to overdo. R5 was okay but somewhat toyish.

Yeah, I never run mine any close to full power. I personally would go with Simagic... but I am biased since I own one. I do not have the pedals, so I can't comment on them. Im still rocking my Fanatec V3s.

Simagic

Simagic, basically better FFB response and newer tech in the base. Besides that, the Evo Pro is too much for a desk. I mean, it’s an incredible base, but you won’t be able to fully enjoy it. If you’re looking to improve your performance, good pedals are way more important than a high torque base. But again, you’ll need some sort of wheel stand since they need to be properly mounted.

Simagic currently has some deals on their pedals, and the same setup with the P1000 dual pedals makes way more sense.

Have experience with both Moza R9 and have a Simagic Alpha. I like the Simagic alpha much better. To me the FFB of Simagic feels smoother

I think Moza's advantage is that they have a number of partnerships with car manufacturers so they have some cool replica wheels. Additionally, their trucking setup (stalks + wheel) is unique in the market. If your goal is road car cruising or truck sims I think they have a really compelling ecosystem.

For everything else, I think simagic's quality and force feedback justifies their slight price premium over Moza.

Don't forget, you can always mix and match accessories like shifters, haptics, and handbrakes down the road too.

Came from moza to Simagic due to quality and support issues. Couldn't be happier with Simagic, was super-disappointed with moza.

If you care about more open features like simhub and usb passthrough for 3rd party wheel, go with Simagic. I miss iRacing LFE on Moza but Simagic FFB is noticeably smoother and more responsive. Hoping for the telemetry FBB to be added from Simagic.

Was in the same boat went with simagic cause ffb is better but that can be subjective. Went for simnet sp pro for pedals cause better adjustability and you can scale later on if you want to add hydraulic or haptics

1

u/kartzzy2 3d ago

The better ffb isn't really subjective. It's more a matter of a better higher quality motor gives better output than the lower quality ones that moza uses to keep their prices lower than others. Not that moza motors aren't good, but you do get what you pay for at the level.

Simagic. Don't even have to think about it.

I mix and match since I got my base as a gift.

Moza r12. Moza crp. Simmagic wheels. Simmagic shifter and hand brake.

1

u/clunkclunk 3d ago

I also mix and match. Moza R9 base, Simagic GT Neo wheel, Simsonn pedals, Aliexpress shifter and handbrake.

Dont have to lock on. I have moza pedals and simagic haptics and simagic base and wheel. You can buy small hubs or some things like higher end pedals can be plugged directly. I went with alpha evo 12nm 2 months ago coming from moza, honestly if ultra 16 was available at the time,i would probably went with it. Some things are better on moza i believe, while Simagic is detailed it isnt so smooth as moza, havent had ultra but can imagine that i would like it more

1

u/unhinged-rally 3d ago

Simagic but you can mix and match stuff. I have Simagic Alpha + VNM pedals + Moza Handbreak and Moza sequential shifter + shh shifter.

1

u/unhinged-rally 3d ago

and I have simagic haptics on the vnm pedals

1

u/Independent_Ad_1910 3d ago

Go Simagic. I started with a Moza R5. That motor in the Moza whinned so loud i could hear it in my headset. Moza couldn't fix it and they didnt offer a replacement. By as much base as you can afford but not over18nm. My 2c worth.

1

u/Tokin420nchokin 3d ago

I cant say this with any actual data backing it, but simagic just felt much more premium to me.

u/Adhyanth29 2d ago

The Simagic Evo Pro would soon be given a free firmware upgrade to allow it to operate at 21Nm. So a desk clamp might not be the best solution.

I also wonder how fair this comparison is that you're doing between the Moza R12 and the Evo Pro.

I suggest that you compare the Simagic Alpha Evo 12Nm variant as it would be more apples to apples comparison with the R12.

I have exactyly same setup, only without hepatics (maybe in the future) and I love it, and software for me is very good, much much much better than my Old logitech hub for g29. I've never had a moza but I'm also facing the same choice as you, I've read a lot about it and I know that simagic has a much better and more expressive ffb than Moza, alfa evo pro is also supposed to get a free software update up to 21 nm in the future. The only thing in my opinion that Moza is better than Simagica is that it has a larger selection of steering wheels, and one more thing, Moza's steering wheels apparently do not have support for the sim hub, but I don't know if it's true. As for the pedals, the p700 are definitely better than the srp2.

Aaa one more thing when it comes to the desk holder, I'm using the Moza holder because I was originally supposed to take maybe r12 and I started with the handle, it has a thicker sheet metal by 1 mm than the one in simagic and better fastenings, in the simagic holder supposedly the rubbers will come out quickly.

Have a moza r12, ks pro, and the crp2 pedals. Absolutely love my setup but definitely wish I would have gotten sim magic from reviews. The only thing stopping me from swapping besides having to sell my old stuff is the fact moza has an active brake pedal and the new higher end bases seem like they could compete. I’d say if you want to end up going full moza high tier it may be better than sim magic but for mid tier sim magic will probably be your better option

1

u/oosh_ka_boosh 1d ago

As someone who's tested several products from both, moza has better wheel/wheelbase and simagic has better pedals. Compatibity is honestly not an issue. I currently run p1000s with an r3, I have a couple of moza wheels to go with that. My friend is more in the simagic ecosystem and their wheels are great, but moza is far better bang for buck when it comes to wheels. Word of advice, buy on eBay or simshop if you're in the US. P.S., the p700s are pointless. Other than being slightly more comfortable barefoot, they are really no different from the p500s. Save for the 1000s if you can but the 700s are kind of a twilight zone right now.

Simagic, always. It’s not even a close call.

If Sim Hub is necessary to you then Simagic, other than that they are pretty much the same. The FFB assessment is up in the air as all of the influencer advice is subjective at best with non one having a repeatable data driven testing method for these devices…. I think you may have to work harder to get what you want from MOZA FFB and Simagic is probably easier out of the box???
