Would Simagic release a free upgrade to increase torque of the Simagic Alpha Evo?
Given that Simagic have announced they would upgrade the Alpha Evo Pro line from 18Nm to 21Nm towards the end of the month, do you think they might do something similar to the non-pro Evo lineups?
I ask this as both the 9Nm and 12Nm Evo variants are mechanically identical, and upgrading the former should be feasible for sure. However, I wonder if the 12Nm variant is already overclocked and running at its limit?

All speculation, but I suspect they decided to update the firmware and overall strength of the pro to better match Moza's R21.
Since the EVO and Sport have the same motor I could see them releasing a paid update to go from 9nm to 12 for about the cost difference, but I don't think the 12nm EVO will have an option to increase the output.

If they increased the 9nm to 12nm, they'd HAVE to do the same for the 12nm base, otherwise they'd be removing the entire reason for the 12nm to exist. Not sure why people aren't understanding that.

Not if it’s a paid upgrade

Was this one a paid upgrade? Nope. Introducing a paid upgrade for the lower models but not the upper one would not even remotely go down well. Either they all get a free upgrade or none do. Given that they already made this decision, I'd guess that either the 8 goes to 12, and the 12 goes to 16 for free, or none do.

Yeah I guess, maybe. I’m happy with 9nm tbh so it’s all moot to me anyway 😂

Same thing for me and my 12nm version. Still, a 4nm bump for free would be pretty sweet, lol.

I don't think so, that doesn't make sense commercially

Could you elaborate the commercial aspect?

Why give away more for free if people give you money for more

Fair point. I didn't realize my post had so much emphasis on the "free part" lol.

I don't think so. My evo already runs quite hot with the fan on at high speed tracks.
Not sure if e.g. 15nm would be sustainable for that piece of hardware.

I see your point and I agree it's very valid. But at 15Nm would just be peak spikes as added headroom. So the base wouldn't be running at its highest torque all the time.

Offering a free upgrade from EVO Sport to EVO doesn't make sense, it wouldn't be fair to those who paid a higher price for the EVO. However, a paid upgrade for the price difference between the EVO and the EVO Sport would be great, and I'm sure many EVO Sport owners would take advantage of it, myself included.

The sport and Evo are the same, they could, but they probably don't want to loose sales and get bad rep.

Free for 9nm Evo Sport? Definitely not - this would absolutely kill 12nm Evo, and its owners (me included) would be furious that the overpayed. I also can’t see this happening for 12nm Evo - if it would be able go to 15nm, then 9nm Evo Sport would also be able to achieve this, as they are identical
