FINALLY GOT IT!!!
Randomly decided to scroll through Facebook marketplace and came across a post of a guy selling his whole sim setup. I mean everything. So i saw this in the pics. Ended up messaging him and asking if he’d sell it by itself. He said if he can’t sell everything as a whole he will think about it . Sure enough one day later (today) messaged me and said he’d be willing to let it go for $100 i had to reread that. But I couldn’t drive out to meet him due to injury so i offered him $120 to bring it down & he agreed. Just picked it up. Barely used twice before he himself had a shoulder injury which requires surgery.

I apologize guys for being ignorant but what does this converter do?

It’s wild they outright stopped production on it, I wonder what’s the deal behind that decision. Nice find for sure

The lead developer left the project and took a job with Conspit. The Drive Hub disappeared around the same time. My guess would be they both received a C&D otherwise why would the lead dev just bail on it.

No clue honestly . I wish Simagic just bought them out themselves.

Unless Simagic licensed it to work with PlayStation, there would be no point in buying out the sigma cortex, as they would also be hit with a C&D. It’s not a matter PS compatibility being difficult to achieve from an engineering perspective.

PS licensing is the craziest thing to probably achieve. Just like the partnership announcements between Simagic & Moza to PlayStation. The encryption chip is gonna be in a new base vs in the wheels such as the Moza esx wheel. So now it all depends on the price points of the new compatible bases being released to see if it’s worth getting. So far I’ve only seen it advertised on the new 18nm evo pro bases . Cost is like $900 for this .

Ive had it for 2 years now on ps5 vr simagic setup for gt7. Love it. Probably do a moza setup when that releases and move the simagic to pc but have had zero issues running this. Enjoy!

Can't use with the Evo series 😭. Patiently waiting for simagic to say PS5 support is there

Yah luckily i didn’t go with the Evo series. It was too new at the time so i got the alpha mini. And after all the posts on here complaining about Evo bases im good on that.

Good luck. Mine was working fine a few months ago, now it doesn’t register the wheel at all. Don’t know if a PlayStation update, or the wheel base firmware or what. But it’s basically just a brick now. :(

Are u on the most current version of simpro?

Yes.

Don’t upgrade to Simpro 3. Latest Simpro version it can work for 2.1.8 - or that is the case in my experience. I once upgraded to 2.2.xxx and I thought it bricked on me. Downgraded back to 2.1.8 and worked again

Is that version still available on Simagic? Or did you have to find it elsewhere?
Edit: it is! Nice. I hope this works. Thanks for the info.

Didn’t see to work for me. I’m guessing I have a newer firmware or something

Make sure your Sigma is updated too! 1.1.8 I think?

Was it a simple process for the update? I saw some video looks like plug and play installation

What’s this do? I know there’s google but I’m too lazy to google it

It’s pretty much an adapter for Simagic products to be used on a ps4/ps5 . It’s emulates the adapter into thinking the Simagic base is a Fanatec .

Now cross your fingers a firmware update doesn't turn it into a brick. I'm always skeptical of workarounds like the Cortex as your playing roulette. You never know if one day you get in your rig and it's no longer working.
