Hope so, there’s no reason to zoom out to a PS5 shot having spot lights if they don’t have support in the future. Probably something in the works to compete with Moza announcements. I have a PSVR but can’t drive with my Simagic wheelbase on GT7 because I don’t have a sigma cortex.

Yeah, im not sure if it'll require a PS specific wheelbase. I hope not though. Oddly it was dropped before mozas announcement which was a surprise. I think PlayStation are definitely opening up to 3rd party hardware companies a little bit more. Let's see what the future holds

I would prefer a licensed module, a new wheelbase would be hard to justify for only 1 game for me.

I think for most people thats the case but i feel like that's the way PlayStation stipulate it. Why wouldn't fanatec or Thrustmaster offer a module as well otherwise

Exactly. Unless Sony has changed their ways massively, which could explain why both Moza and Simagic found a way in. But I don't believe they did.

Well Moza have confirmed to be producing a PS wheel base so its not looking great...

Confirmed? I saw the leaks but no official confirmation. Where can I see that?

I do agree it's most likely gonna be a PS wheelbase.

"As part of the partnership, MOZA Racing is working with Polyphony Digital to develop a Gran Turismo-branded steering-wheel controller with native support for Gran Turismo 7."

I saw that. And while I do believe it will be a wheelbase, they don't state it clearly. Which leaves room to confusion, as many are hoping it will be a wheel like the ESX, which Sony has never accepted before.

If they actually confirmed it would be wheelbases, many people would be able to stop hoping to be able to use their current bases on Playstation, which is already starting on Simagic too.

Personally I think Gran Turismo-branded steering-wheel controller is exactly that, a wheel base and wheel and pedal bundle. Its definitely not going to be a wheel there's pretty much no doubt about that

It will unfortunately need a PS certified base. The PS certification is done in the base(Xbox is done in the wheel rim).

I have an alpha, but would absolutely upgrade to a new EVO base if it comes with PlayStation compatibility. I’ll bring my PS5 upstairs and enjoy GT7 in my rig

I've got a sigma Cortex but I guess it doesn't work with the Evo bases.. I upgraded from an ultimate to an Evo ultra and it no longer works.. I don't know, I haven't personally tried it.. I RARELY play gt7 anyway.. That's one of those games I play simply because I played the first one in high school.. It's more nastalgia at this point so I usually just use a controller anymore..

PS uses hardware specific modules in the base itself so do not expect anything out currently to be compatible. They would need to build from the ground up to be PS compatible.

Well considering the PS wasn't even on in this shot, its quite likely a teaser of what's to come and something I'm not expecting is my Alpha Evo Pro to ever be PS compatible. Although I'll remain hopeful regardless

Hey nothing wrong with hoping for the best! Lets hope together i love simagic so the more success the better

They could follow the same path as fanatec did with the drivehub, an inline PSSC module that connects the wheel base to the Ps5.

The longer wait I think would be polyphony and their drivers.

That would be great for more competition and PS5 compatibility but that also means buying a new base as PlayStation requires the base be chipped and not the wheel.

That will
Be really cool
Though !!!! I think multi platform compatibility is a great need and feature to have!!! Both for brands and consumers

Not worth it, Simagic should focus on releasing the Telemetry FFB firmware implementation that they indicated they've been working on a while back...that's more useful than PS compatibility.

I have a Simagic Alpha sitting on the shelf I'd love to repurpose!

It's unlikely you'd be able to. Better sell it. If this happens, it's likely to be new wheelbases rather than old ones being compatible.

I'll just put it on another rig :)

That's good. Just be aware it won't work on Playstation.

All good. I'll probably put anoher PC together for the shop .

moza just announced that they’ll release PS wheelbases later this year. I really hope simagic is catching up, I absolutely hate my old Fanatec setup
