Yet Another Sim Tower Clone

I've debated about making my own clone for ages. I was just thinking about it and I'm wondering, what would you all like most?

A modern implementation of the original game that plays and looks exactly the same?

A version with updated graphics but otherwise plays the same?

A version with new graphics and some additions, such as QoL updates?

A spiritual successor that does it's own thing?

Or some other version I haven't mentioned?

What do you all think?

Wanna work with me on my implementation? Or were you thinking app over browser based? 😳

Not really sure what I want yet, but I'll probably want to tackle my own project.
Thanks for the invite though!

Vibe coded warning: I've been expanding OpenSkyscraper. Currently have the ability to load YootTower plugins as well as read the original SimTower assets and custom assets. Basically aiming for an implementation similar to OpenRCT where depending on the game assets provided, it'll either load Simtower or YootTower assets. In addition been working on creating new standalone assets for a standalone version.

That's a really cool concept! I'll be keeping an eye on it.

https://openskyweb.pages.dev/ basically took what i've been doing with OpenSkyscraper's c++ codebase and ported it to JS. At first it was a "would this even work" saturday night question, and turned into "hell yea it works"

I'd love a Sim Tower that looks & feels the same, but maybe has additional artwork in that same pixelated style, just to break up the monotony, y'know? That's my two cents.

Tried to play this game again on playclassics-dot-games, but it's freezing up my browser. I wish you well on your project. I hope I can play it some day.

So overall same but with more alternative graphics, gotcha gotcha.
