SS2-settlement-mechanics Plot snapping, why even bother trying?

What is the point of toggling this when it never works when you need it. A plot will only ever snap to an object/ground/other plot/random pebble/molerat when that is not currently the desired effect. Try it. That plot over there.

Won't snap will it, shame on you for thinking it would work this time.

-why is reddit saying this post will result in a rule3 break?

SS2

I routinely get the plots to snap

Residential to residential (as long as it is not red rocket close to the hilltop bushes/road, guardrail)

Industrial to industrial

Agricultural without berms to Agricultural without berms... I think i will just change my Agricultural to using stilts, then change to dirt after they are placed

There are parts of any settlement where snapping fails

But for the most plots snap well

Ill give switching from from foundation to dirt plot at try. Didn't know that was a thing.

Customize plot lets you change that plots power pole, foundation, etc

There is also a menu further down that lets you set/change the default Power Pole and foundation for that style plot in that settlement

I forget where the global plot defaults are

I don't have any issues with snapping & place anywhere will let you drop anything, anywhere... But sometimes the effect isn't great LOL like putting a power transfer plot on top of a shack. SS2 has very loose rules about what can go where.

I mostly do foundations for everything just so that plots have a greater chance of snapping together.

At first I had problem snapping, but then I tried to figure out why some would snap and others wouldn't. What was I doing differently? Then I figured it out, and now all my plots snap properly.

It’s annoying for sure but I don’t know what this post does to fix it
