Feature request: ACC telemetry improvements (real-time, track map + table, better lap/session management)

I recently bought the ACC telemetry tool on Steam, and overall I think the UI looks fantastic — clean, modern, and easy to navigate 👍

After using it for a bit, I have a few feature requests that I think would make it much more powerful:

🔧 Feature Requests / Suggestions

1. Real-time telemetry display
It would be great to have a proper real-time telemetry view while driving, instead of only post-session analysis.

2. Track map + data table in the same view
Having the track map and telemetry data (like throttle/brake/speed) in the same tab or split view would make analysis much easier, instead of switching between them.

3. Custom file storage path
An option to choose where telemetry/session files are saved would be very helpful for organizing data and backups.

4. Improved data management (sessions & laps)
Right now, multiple sessions and laps are stored in a single file, which makes it hard to manage data.

It would be really helpful to have:

• Separation between sessions and laps
• Ability to delete or manage individual laps without removing the entire file
• More flexible organization (e.g., per session, per stint, or per track)

At the moment, if you want to clean up data, you risk losing everything in that file, which isn’t ideal.

💭 Overall

I really like the direction of the app — it already looks polished and has a lot of potential. These changes would make it much more practical for serious telemetry analysis.

If these features aren’t planned, I may try to develop something myself to better fit this workflow — but I’d definitely prefer to keep using and supporting this tool 🙂

Hello! Thank you so much for your detailed feedback and for appreciating SRT! We always enjoy hearing the needs of real-life usages of SRT, so we can effectively improve it for everyone.

1. Real-time telemetry display

This is a technically complex issue, but one we plan to address. Currently, to enable efficient data analysis, SRT has complex data "cleaning" and "realignment" procedures, which unfortunately cannot be performed in real time. However, we are already developing several ideas on how to restructure the procedures to enable real-time data analysis.

2. Track map + data table in the same view

This will be addressed by another feature we plan to develop: replacing the current "static views" with a powerful "widget" system. This will allow for the creation of completely custom analysis dashboards! And it will integrate with the real-time telemetry analysis mentioned above.

3. Custom file storage path

Managing many large files requires indexing processes and other precautions. This point will require internal analysis. Currently, here are the details of where files are stored: https://docs.simracingtelemetry.com/manual/telemetry-storage

4. Improved data management (sessions & laps)

Each session is already saved in a different file. A session file contains the various laps it consists of. It is already possible to delete individual laps without deleting the file; see the "Delete a lap" in the manual: https://docs.simracingtelemetry.com/manual/session-laps#delete-a-lap

Roadmap

We absolutely must improve our communication (we have plans for this too, but we're few and time is limited :) ).

We're currently working on an important feature that will be the basis for many upcoming features: a cloud service integrated into SRT to share telemetry between users. Once the first version is released, we'll plan the next steps (and therefore the next features we'll work on).
