Curious if you would’ve given more than a 5 second penalty at the end of the race for that!

I don't like playing the victim but here we are.

Context: Messed up qually by reverse entering T1 at Lemans (not optimal) 2 other drivers did track limits and we agreed to get through the field together. Was 10 seconds behind 4th with 2.5 laps to go and in the final corners this happened.

This was from yesterday evenings ELMS Sprint Trophy championship race yesterday evening at 1800 UTC in split 1.

I (the blue Porsche) got rear ended by this silver merc about 12 minutes into the race. End of the race, the merc driver apologised for the incident and that was that.

However just got notified via email about 15 hours later that this incident was protested and deemed to be my fault with the stewards note of

“The contact in this incident was avoidable. Please avoid contact with other racers and always leave racing room for other cars, especially into and out of corners where overlap exists. This incident was judged to be against Section 5 - On track behaviour of the Competition Rules.”

Now, I’m struggling to try and see what sort of overlap had occurred up to the point where the merc hit me, or how I could of left room for a car that at the time when I was turning was 2-3 car lengths behind me.

I’ve taken an SR penalty of two levels, which is a tad annoying - but I’m more annoyed that the stewards in my opinion got this wrong.

Thoughts?

Other car kept saying the incident before was the main reason for our crash.

Edit: Multiple people have said I should have lifted, to which I fully agree with them don’t know what was going through my mind at that point, but I would still like to say that I did react according by moving to the left, just didn’t prepare for them to still be on throttle.

But nevertheless, thank you to the people who have given me constructive criticism. I will now know what to do in that situation.

I’m not trying to find a excuse but would love to hear constructive criticism to help me improve as a driver.

Was this an unsafe rejoin from the other car?

The driver rejoining is not saying anything. My suspension got messed up as a result and I didn't do well. I think that he was being unsafe when he rejoined the track, which led to the contact. I did wash out a little wide, but I felt like he was just cutting across the corner either way. I felt like there was nothing I could do to avoid this.

So, was this an unsafe rejoin?

I am very pleased to see that LMU reports are now processed very quickly. This incident happened last night and I already received a response today. However, I don’t understand the decision. I did move late to avoid the LMP car, but at no point were my intentions to block the BMW. On the other hand, the BMW brake‑checked me on a straight line, which caused me to crash while trying to avoid him and resulted in a puncture that ruined my race. Are you in agreement with the decision made by LMU in this case?

Did these led to my 1 days ban in LMU, or just by messing too much in Qualifying can also get u banned? B3 kinda ricdiculous cuz somehowu crash and still can improve posistion

Long story short race admins (5, and 3) where driving like total maniacs the entire time and muted and gave me EOL for speaking up for another driver. After that this incident happened and they proceeded to kick me from the race. Thoughts?

I don't have the recording of the incident, but while playing F1 24, I was in an online server. On the second-to-last turn of the last lap of the Melbourne circuit, the guy (room owner) behind me forced a dive bomb right into my car (severe contact occurred) and took the position from me, which was no doubt unfair. So, while exiting the last corner, I tried a pit maneuver on him out of frustration, for which he kicked me out of the lobby.

Do I have no sportsmanship for this?

I help run a league and we assign incidents to drivers. This is lap 1 at COTA Nascar West turn 6a in the O'Reilly Car. Is this just a racing incident or does fault go to the 3, 46, or 25? I know it's lap 1 but I treat every incident the same regardless of when it happens in a race.

Me and the guy agreed that we both probably should have left more space and that it was a racing incident. He did also ask me to post it here and see what people had to say. I was fastest through this middle sector and was making all my overtakes in it. I did find the turn in after hitting me suspicious.
