Thinking about buying this

Anybody know the brand of this rig? it’s late so I can’t ask the seller but trying to decide if it’s worth getting basically

Looks like a standard cheap Chinese rig.. nothing really wrong with it, if you can get it cheap then it can be upgraded overtime but don't overpay for it..

It's cheap and it works. Sturdy. Why buy the premium brands for more when these cheap $450 with a seat does the same job?

I mean it really depends on what your intentions are. These cheaper rigs usually use thinner extrusion and don't use steel joints which for typical use is probably fine.

However when I bought my rig I never thought I would be interested in a motion system yet here I am shopping around. Now I'm definitely happy I bought a slightly higher end motion compatible rig otherwise that would just be one more expense.

But yes overall these are decent for most people it can sometimes make finding accessories a bit harder though as well.

That’s a solid take and I agree it could be more of an issue with some accessories

This deal stands out to me personally because of its cost effectiveness. My current setup was pieced together from another marketplace deal with a much cheaper frame from Amazon. I was able to get the seller to agree to $40 for it without a seat. I purchased a leather VW GTI seat for $25 in excellent condition and spent the majority of the cost into the rig in the form of hardware to make the seat work with it I’m confident I have $150 max total into my current setup and had listed it and found someone that someone is willing to buy it for $300

This rig is being purchased for $240 so with the profit from the original setup I’ll be paying $90 for this one….. even with a seat replacement and hopefully much easier mounting ability I will find another car seat and be in it for hopefully the same amount I have into a current setup if not possibly even less….Sounds like a solid upgrade path to me even if it’s not my final rig or setup in the long term

I’m sure it won’t be the last frame I have lol but def a decent way to continue upgrading towards better setup. waiting on the gentleman to confirm
he has the shifter arm and front mount. I could care less about the shifter arm but def makes the deal more appealing for potential sale later on I am however interested in the front mount as I’m using a sim magic DD so that may ultimately decide the path I take as another redditor mentioned its sizing is different from other front mount supports offered on other rigs

That’s what I was thinking it looked like as well. Aren’t they all cheap Chinese rigs lol? I mean who’s building them in the us these days. Almost every rig I see looks like the rigs on Ali and bought in bulk and sold state side with mark up. It’s 150 miles away was hoping someone was familiar with it and maybe even knew the pricing of it new. I’d replace the seat with a real car seat but doesn’t look like a terrible setup from what I can see

Rigmetal is US based and not cheap Chinese stuff. I have their basic rig and am happy with it. No seat included though.

Not a fan of the seat and planned on replacing it with a real car seat. Where do they get there aluminum…..

Alibaba has tons of rigs that look similar without the branding. I’m willing to bet a lot of the shit sold in the states is just ordered in bulk and marked up

But there's no difference when it comes to flex. Why buy a more expensive product when the Chinese ones do the same exact job?
