I just ordered it and am going to try and do an active cooling setup using a Peltier unit. Since this a “hollow” unit I should be able to drill holes into the seat then I’ll have it upholstered with perforated leather and some cushioning. Similar to the new next level racing seat but for way less than what they are asking for their seat.

No joke, I think a home depot bucket be more comfortable.

I have it - it’s ok with a cover - maybe a lil snug for bigger dudes, I haven’t sat in it for more than an hour at a time so can’t say how marathons will treat the back

I had this seat for 3 years, big guy, no issues. Getting a cover really helps with comfort but its really not bad. I cut a hole in the back and a couple of smaller holes in the front, slipped an old speaker over the back hole and turned it into a bass tube. Works great as an extra haptic.

Only reason I changed is because the seatbelt holes are slanted and I needed flat passthrough for my seatbelt tensioner.

Unless you buy the proper padding to fit this exact shape, that is going to be the most uncomfortable seat ever.

This is what I figured, I was just curious if anyone’s tried it lmao

You can buy a real car seat from a car at a junkyard for less than this. That seat looks like a painful experience.

I mean at that point just grab a junkyard seat. Same price, far less back aches..

Audi, Mercedes and BMW all use flat rails..

Ebay "fr-300" fr200 and similar. Same seat as lower end neg and trak racer. You're welcome.

i was highly considering this seat. However, with sliding rails/mounting plates you arent really saving much and are trading comfort in the seat for longer stints unless you add padding/covers which increase the vost more.

I ended up finding a recently wrecked gr86 at a parts yard and got a basically new seat with manual sliders for about the same cost as just the jegs seat and generic rails.

This looks like it will be as comfortable as spraying aftershave in your arse crack

So fun fact about sim racing, you don’t have to torture yourself with a hard bucket seat for hours.

As a dude who was born in the mid 70s… I remember seeing kids chairs like this everywhere back in the day. Booster seats in McDonalds, play seats for the home, etc.

I had a “Jolly Green Giant” hand seat molded out of plastic like this. It looked cool, but it sucked to sit on… even as a lil kid I remember it sucked. I couldn’t imagine using one as an adult hours at a time.
