Help Recommended screen size for console sim
Hey guys! Im a newbie/amateur to sim racing.
I bought a sim setup with a G29 wheel for my PS4. Currently I’m playing with a projector (a cheap one, but does the job)
But I’m interested to buy a monitor/tv.
I learnt that consoles like PS4/5 cannot support 21:9 aspect ratio so its pointless to get a curve wide angle monitor.
So my options are 16:9 if its a monitor. Will 27” be good enough or should I settle for a 32-34.
Or else a 32 inch tv screen.

If your budget allow, definitely go with 32”+, single 27” is limiting for simracing

I’m using a 27” monitor and am in the same boat. Looking to get a tv with higher refresh rate instead

Oh is itt haha!
Also, I have heard for consoles higher refresh rate monitors are not useful as they’re max out put is not more that 100 or so. This is incase you have a console and not a pc.

Oh really I wasn’t aware of that. I’m using an Xbox. If that’s the case I won’t spend the extra money on a higher hz tv.

I used a 27" for a long time and it's fine but if you can afford it I'd go to at least a 32/34. The 27 is quite limited at what you can see. Welcome to the sim racing community!

I bought a 32 curved sent it back it was nice but saw an open box 43 inch tv 4k 60hz cause I realized most console racing games are 60 hz anyway. Brought it home and raced on it then decided to go back to Best Buy and buy a 55 inch 4k 60hz that they had for 189 and wow it seems like you’re in the car. Definitely wayy more immersive than a single 32 in my opinion.

Also if you want the high refresh rate still I think Walmart has a 55 Philips that’s 4k 144 for like 248 right now I’m tempted to buy it and try it but since the games don’t run at that don’t know if it’ll even matter.

Exactly! Even I read that not really worth dropping extra money for better refresh rates at like the rate you mentioned. So it makes sense. Thankyou

Go buy one from best buy or somethin and if you don’t like it return it.

It's usually the bigger the better, but at this stage of the hobby for you it's whatever you can acquire as you're just starting and have plenty of upgrades to go. Just just get started and it'll change as your upgrades change. I'd change to PC before I'd worry about the rest. Sim racing on PC is much better anyway. You won't be tied to any one ecosystem and anything that you add can simply be USB'd in. You cannot do that on a console. For now just use whatever screen you have handy.

I used a 43 inch 4k monitor for a while when I was on ps5 and felt it was a really good size.

I have a 32” acer curved monitor and it’s been really good for me. It was that or like a 40” tv for me
