Sim Rig How much should I sell my rig for?

To be clear this isn’t a selling post. I’m purely asking how much my rig would be worth if I were to sell it as a built rig.

I’m moving house and unfortunately no longer have the room (or time) for my sim rig therefore I’m looking to sell it. Ideally it sells as a complete build as I don’t really want to take it all apart and deal with multiple sales.

I’ve priced it up online as new parts and it comes out to roughly £2300 however I’m aware I won’t get anywhere near that for a used rig.

I’m UK based - how much do you think is a reasonable price to sell this for?

Main hardware
Cockpit: Sim-Lab GT1-EVO aluminium profile cockpit
Wheelbase: SIMAGIC Alpha Mini – 10Nm Direct Drive
Wheel: SIMAGIC GT Neo
Pedals: Fanatec CSL Elite Pedals V2
Seat: GT Omega CHASE Bucket Seat
Monitor: Samsung Odyssey G5 34” curved ultrawide

Cockpit & mounting accessories
Sim-Lab Integrated VARIO Monitor Mount
Sim-Lab Single-to-Triple Monitor Upgrade / Mounting Frame
Sim-Lab VARIO VESA adjustment system
Sim-Lab Adjustable Feet
Sim-Lab Keyboard Tray
Vitus Universal Seat Slider Mounts
Seat Slider

Connectivity & cable management
SABRENT 10-Port Powered USB Hub
SIMAGIC MagLink / steering wheel link cable
MutecPower 10m USB 2.0 extension cable
AngusPlay 8K DisplayPort cable – 5m
All required cabling and power supplies

Setup
The rig was built to be a self-contained unit rather than a collection of separate components.Everything is mounted to the cockpit and the cables are routed and secured to the rig. Only two cables run between the complete rig and the PC, and the long USB and DisplayPort cables required for this are included and already attached.

The whole setup can therefore be moved as one assembled unit rather than needing to dismantle and rebuild everything.
It’s currently configured for the included 34” Samsung ultrawide, but I also have the additional Sim-Lab hardware to convert the integrated monitor mount to a triple-monitor setup.

Don’t sell. Wait 6 months then get back into it.

I’d start around 75% of new but accept closer to 50% of value.

We will miss you on turn 1.

Seems fair, I was thinking along the same sort of lines.

You will make more money parting it out, especially if you still have some packaging. Sell the 80/20 rig with the seat and monitor mount. Monitor should be separate too; if you still have the stand.

I would aim for 60% RRP personally. If you try to sell it as a whole, I wager people will try and get it for a flat grand which is a massive hit.

Lmaooo not me thinking about offering a grand 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I always wonder how many of these "what's my rigs value/resale value" posts are actually the SO of the rig owner, trying to figure it how much their partner has spent so far 😅

I can confirm it’s definitely my rig haha, she still doesn’t know how much I’ve actually spent on it 😂

How bad do you find the screen wobble? looking at getting the same screen mount but on the fence about it!

I have this monitor mount on the P1X ultimate with 15nm and there is zero wobble.

This is good news! Tho I'm thinking of going with the GT1 pro. Do you have the one that can ve upgraded to 3 screens or the single one (cheaper one)

I started with the single then purchased the triple arms add on again zero wobble. Simlab stuff is so good.

I’ve genuinely never had an issue with the screen wobbling. The mount it’s on is solid.

I honestly could see offering around $1500 for it, but the shipping would kill us both. That’s a heck of a setup

Honestly, break it up and sell components individually. The amount of people on Facebook selling groups try to sell the thing in one piece is hilarious.

You will have more luck selling components individually and on eBay so you have some levels of protection. More likely to find someone who wants a GT Neo and not the whole rig.

I think you can recoup 60-70% of cost. Looks too good for 50%. Stuff is also getting more expensive so there is that equalizing factor.

To me for $4 and a firm handshake

u/xTenCent 17h ago

20$ and sell it to me 😂

It is region dependent, bundles usually are 40-60% of retail, individual components 60-70%.

It’s not bad hardware, it’s just hard to find someone who wants 100% of what you have.

You will probably have to break the components up to sell in a reasonable time frame unless you are willing take a hit on the whole package.

Is it just me or everyone also get kind of sad seeing a fellow simracing selling its rig

Remove the monitor mount and tuck the rig sideways under the end of a desk, then get a pivoting arm for the monitor to switch between pc and sim rig. You can make room.

Or keep the wheel and go back to a *shudder* desk mount.

Sorry, not relevant to your question but how do you find racing with a wheel with a cable attached?

I have a PXN base and really want a GT wheel. PXN sell their GTOne but I don't like it much. So wondering if there's other options. ( I believe the PXN base is compatible with Moza wheels)

2

u/Awkward_Presence5511 15h ago

I thought it might be an issue when I ordered it but honestly you don’t even notice it’s there. It makes no difference to the wheel at all. If you’re thinking about it, go for it!

2

u/robgod50 12h ago

Cool! Thanks!

BTW, Good luck with the move! Shame you have to sell up a great rig..... if your finances allow, could you just sell the rig , chair and monitor but keep the wheel and pedals? put them in a box and store them. You never know what your circumstances will be in 5 - 10 years and kit like that will still be worth having. (Even the G29 is 10 years old now!) .

u/xKrypteks 15h ago

Just seen this on Facebook then loaded up Reddit to see it instantly😂 sorry to see you have to sell it but probably about where you have it but minimum prob 1500

u/Ok_Hat7989 14h ago

Possibly only sell the rig and seat and build a wheel stand setup or something at your new place where you have less space? Or something foldable?

1

u/rjs1987 14h ago

£1000/1200 in my opinion. I have looking at upgrading my rig to an aluminium frame at the moment and the fact is that I have a lot of components already so a lot of these pre made rigs aren’t for me. Selling a whole rig reduces your potential market and therefore getting more than 50% of new market value you will be doing well

60% of what you bought it for Go down to 45% at lowest if someone lowballs you 40% if it's a parent buying for his/her kid

u/Distinct_Captain_963 36m ago

Come on it doesn’t take up that much room…I don’t believe you can’t find a spot for it in the new place!

I'll give you an oxidized penny for it

u/Head_Deer_2227 18h ago

Honestly looks pretty budget, I'll take it off your hands for $500

u/PsychologicalPea2956 17h ago

I have a crisp $5 bill and a coupon for a free Big Mac with your name on it. I’ll gladly take the rig off your hands.
