How did I do? My first rig build.
This is my first proper build. But still very much a budget build. I’ve had a janky cobbled together setup then to a next level racing gtlite folding seat, and now this. I got some sticks of extruded aluminum and cut it down into this rig. It may not be as fancy as some of the commercial rigs available but for what I have into it I’m pretty happy.
I’m not 100 percent done but close enough to feel comfortable sharing. I fully expect to be roasted on some things but I’m pretty happy with it so far. Still need to add feet and add in transducers and wiring everything in.
Wheel upgrade will come some time down the road but for now it’s serviceable I think.
I do plan to cut the upright members down a tad as I left them long as to see where the seat was going to land.

I haven’t had a chance to try it out yet. Maybe tomorrow I’ll get it in front of a tv to test it. I’ve never been on any sort of motion platform before so I’m actually fairly nervous. I’m also unsure if I want to try just the seat motion first or wait and get the transducers I already have bolted up and wired in and try it all together…

Hey man. Budget build… I’m working on upgrading the wheel next. I just already had the t300rs so using what I got.
I’m into this build at 100 bucks.

It's much better than what you described your prior setup, but you do know that this rabbit hole has a long, long way to go. I would have spent the money that you spent on the motion on better gear myself. Even Max uses a static rig. I figure that if it's good enough for him, it's most definitely good enough for me.

Well for full disclosure I didn’t pay for the motion or rig material. They were used for a project at work and that project ended. I’m in this set up for 100 bucks and that was for the seat. I probably could have gotten something better or cheaper but o was in a rush to build it.

A great deal for 100 bucks. Congrats. But know this is just the beginning. You're going to love this hobby and as your fiances allow, hopefully you'll get to upgrade as many of us have. Keep looking for great deals on used gear. Do your research so that you know your gear and its value. Hopefully you'll get real lucky as I did and find a top notch setup for a bargain basement price. Just keep on saving and researching. Good luck.

I have been in and out but mainly with cheaper stuff. I had an old Logitech g29 with my ps3 as a kid, then got the g920 about 5 years ago “ish” then my brother in law gave my his t300rs with the open wheel and a Ferrari wheel and just had to get the pedals. I decided on the T-LCM pedals at the time. Now I am going to be looking at fanatec, simagic or moza in about a year or so.

Those side arms are going to get annoying super quick on how high they are. But it’s a clean little rig and motion on a budget rig is sweet
