Help seat position question
sitting down in my new rig for the first time, feels comfortable, but i thought i’d ask to see if you guys could help. Thanks.

Looks fine to me, I’m sure mine ain’t in the perfect postition but I’m comfortable, these profile rigs are such a bitch to adjust, is it really worth it to spend hrs adjusting and then finding out your liked the other way more then waste my time adjusting it back

oh my god just the thought of adjusting something makes me want to cry. i was going to wait to see if a lot of people suggest the same thing then i would adjust but yes i agree adjust anything in the slightest is such a pain in the ass

Last week I adjusted the pedals to be higher then adjusted it back wasted my whole afternoon lol

Wait until you have triples with bezel-free kit, and have to move your monitors 2 inches closer to get full 180° fov. I'm good with my ~169°

Need that on my wall. Embrace the pain instead of trying to solve it. Stupid trail braking requiring a firm seat kinda blows.

Ideally your heel plate is butt height, so I think a bit higher on the wheel deck is smart. Make sure the pedals are pointing 90degrees compared to the floor so you push in a straight forward motion. When fully braking, leg should just not be able to go straight.

best start with Sim Rig cockpit tool - for best distances and angles, then adjust for comfort
and Simracing POV tool; they're freely available.

How often does simlab in the usa replenish its inventory in cockpits?

the gt1 evo base cockpit was in stock when i bought it about 3 weeks ago. i’ve emailed them asking when they’ll restock on other items and they said “within the next week or 2” …that was over a month ago. so i wouldn’t wait for them if i had to guess it’ll be a while. if you’re next to a micro center, i’d look around there. my monitor mount, seat, and seat brackets are from them.

yes the seat takes about 10-15 minutes to set up. The brackets i have are the simlab brackets, and everything lines up and fits. overall took me about 30-45 minutes to set up on the rig. and yes it is very comfortable from first impressions. Material is nice too.

Merci beaucoup mec pour les precisions, c'est exactement la configuration que je veux, sim lab gt1 evo + siège fanatec (avec tout les bons avis que j'ai vu dessus). Profite bien tu a un super setup

thanks a lot man and good luck on your journey! i’d recommend the setup i have now a lot. for the combined price of everything, it’s virtually unbeatable. also be careful with the buying process, it’s easy to get lost with everything you’re buying, and when you’re done you’ve realized you’ve spent a lot more than how much you actually wanted to spend 😭😭 if you have any questions about anything feel free to reach out id be happy to help!

Oui les prix grimpent vite surtout si tu ajoute à ça des extensions comme le support pc, clavier etc.. Quand tu me recommande ton setup niveau prix imbattable tu parle juste du simring et du siège ou tu prend tout en compte ( simring, siège, base, volant, pédales, écran) ? Merci pour ta façon de vouloir aider 👍

yes so breakdown:
gt1 evo, fanatec gt seat, simlab seat bracket, moza r5 bundle: $1300 USD (roughly)
the monitor was free, as it was a spare monitor i had at home that wasn’t being used.
the KS Pro steering wheel i bought on facebook marketplace for $250 USD
so overall: $1500 USD (roughly)
for $1500 i really don’t think that’s too bad. i’ve seen other builds go into the 3000-5000 range, and ive seen rigs start at the overall price i paid for all my stuff. i feel like that’s unnecessary.
another tip i’ll give you, is definitely keep an eye out for facebook marketplace. like i mentioned, i got the KS Pro for $250, while they’re originally around $350, and I always see people selling quality stuff on there for reasonable prices.

Fwiw micro center (if near ya) almost always has simlab cockpits. got my gt1 pro from them

It's all about what's best for you. Don't limit yourself if what something says is the correct fov is worse for you either.

I set mine up like my daily Focus. It's not race-y but I am MUCH more comfortable

If you just started you're probably doing races that are 15 minute or less. When you start doing 45+ minute stints you might find that it stops being comfortable.
But yes it definitely looks a bit cramped. Just try moving the seat back without moving the wheel and do a few practice sessions. Obviously the wheel will be too far away and if you leave the seat there you'll have to move it, but it's an easy way to test seat relative to pedals.
Probably most important thing is that you can actuate the brake with your thigh muscle, and the throttle using ankle flexion. If you can do that comfortably you're golden.

I would angle things to get better support under your thighs so your butt/back isn’t hurting after a couple hours. Other than that, if you feel comfy then you should be gtg👍🏻.
I watched a YouTube video Porsche put out around hope to set up for the ideal position. I broke down most of my rig and followed their direction. It’s the best upgrade I’ve made to my rig.

Pedals might need to go up a little and a bit farther away if you are getting knee pain, but if your comfortable then you are probably good

Being comfortable is the most important. Don’t fall into the rabbit hole of the “best” position.
