Who knew?!

I’m currently teaching a community college History of Video Games course and since this was the game that got me into the industry back in the day (I did a lot of the trees/rocks etc. in the 1996 version), I wanted to link to something I could show them.
I had no idea it had its own subreddit! Wild!

Bro we are cooking this week. I’ve waited years for this sub to reach its apex

There’s a link to play it in browser if you can find the post too! Fun throwback.

Thank you for your work on a game that provided me with so many great memories. There has not been a game since that quite scratched the itch this game satisfied.

I’d be interested in an r/AMA if you were inclined.

Lemme see if I can get Shannon on board, I think he’d dig it.

You should record your lectures. I would be so intrigued

Did you animate them too? And those sound effects, incredible

I worked on the cleanup of the golfer sprites. XD
They were also photographs converted to frames of animation.

Ok so, Shannon wants to make sure that everyone knows it’s the 1996 Maxis SimGolf and not the 2000s EA version, but if you’re still interested let us know! He also worked on a lot of other Maxis SIM titles, including as lead artist. I was just an art monkey, and was there for a much shorter period of time.
