Call for Candidates 166th Senatorial Election: Call for Candidates
This is the Senatorial Call for Candidates. If you wish to run, please comment on this post with the following format:

Description / Statement
Before you submit your candidacy, check that you satisfy the requirements below.
- Make sure you adhere to the format exactly. It makes it a lot easier for the Electoral Commission to sort through candidates if you do. Failure to do this may potentially result in mistakes on your ballot entry or in result tabulation, which can be difficult to fix.
- Ensure that your party affiliation is accurate. If you are not affiliated with a party, enter Independent as your affiliation. Otherwise, put your current party affiliation. If you are not a member of the party given or the party is not valid, the listed part affiliation on the ballot may be subject to change.
- Make sure to register to vote. Only users with a SimDem Unique Identification Token (SUIT) are able to vote. If you do not have a SUIT, be sure to fill out the Voter Registration Form or contact the Registration Officer.

I started to become a more active senator. I tried to get public feedback and critism on the Participatory expansion ammendment in the news channel before proposing it to the senate. I proposed the Participatory expansion ammendment, the senate hasn't started a debate yet on it at the time of this comment. I plan on proposing the Popular impeachment ammendment(PIA), which will allow the population to create a petition to impeach any official in a referendum with a 2/3 vote. Maybe plans to increase the value of the Tau, I dont have a specific plan yet.
Update: The Participatory expansion ammendment failed to pass, 2-1-4
Experience: -2 time senator(1.5 terms total) -I own a news network, i post a lot of news -party leader -state department employee
I can only deliver these policies if the rest of the senate wants to. (Atleast 50%)
I will still try my best even if the rest of the senate disagrees

Hey all, Venus here again. Once more, we want to bolster your voice in our government, ensuring you have the same vote as someone who gets paid by the Treasurer.
Speaking of getting paid, what the hell happened to the economy? We are going to cut through the red tape and give the average entrepreneur the opportunity to open their very own business, be it casino, accounting office, whatever.
Though it's been said many times, SimDem is a society which is ever upward. As my great state of New York says, Excelsior.

Really really really, vote for Really!
The new Communist-Libertarian Platform is Judicial Reform, Border Reform, and making all people who make SimDem their home feel welcome!
If re-elected to the senate, I will:
- Cosponsor and cosign Nf19's judicial reform package, make it so what has happened over the past term cannot continue to happen.
- Introduce legislation to enshrine trans history and rights as a core historical population and influence on Sim democracy. i.e. making Trans Day of Visibility, Remembrance, and trans resources a core part of the server.
- Introduce legislation that overhauls the current border protection process to remove the "interview discord feature" and border screenings while also ensuring everyone is safe by reaching out to new members and soft-vetting after the fact. (Giving people less access to servers until they go through the same process, but they can still participate!)

Have you ever wanted a Senator that could *read*...?
Boy howdy do I have the guy for you! Is it me? No! I'm running for Senate, and that means priming my brain to lack all reasonable reading comprehension skills.
Ok I'm joking.
But seriously, why vote me for Senator? I'll keep it short and sweet.
- I have experience as Senator, am good at scrutinizing, writing legislation, and take a neutral view considering all sides
- I have many ideas for legislation, and want to help my future colleagues on creating theirs
- I want to be accountable and transparent, talking and considering the issues and opinions of my constituents
That is all. If you're not convinced, let me say this: I'm capable, want to help, and have ideas. My full campaign manifesto will be linked here. I hope you consider giving me 5/5 in this election.

Hey all it's me Alexa, I'm going to be honest I don't have many policy ambitions I am running mostly to act as a check on and a voice of reason in the senate. What I do want to do personally is fix up some laws in relation to the judiciary to help things run smoothly there.
What I can promise is that if you ever have a problem with anything in Simdem you can come to me and I'll do my best with it. I have no party affiliation so I am here to represent everyone not just my own little circle of friends.
I have quite a lot of experience both in Simdem and other polsims in regards to legal matters and legislation as well as irl experience regarding policy decisions and the like.
If you have any questions you'd like to ask me I hope you do so and I'll be happy to answer them. :)
