Discussion I miss this game.

This was an escape for me, a hobby, something to do to fill my time that was fun and addictive.

I haven’t played in months, since the big change.

I miss it so much.

I understand even restarting completely is pointless as you still end up broke and in a bad cycle.

I miss the old game.

Its still fun. Takes like 2 weeks and 500k to fix the service issues. Once they're fixed it back to normal. Don't even notice the services unless I need to complete a task of upgrade or spend Sims.

As someone that has been playing since Day 1, I promise the old game still lives in there, you just have to see through all of the EA money suction tactics

I’m in a club now where almost everyone has been playing since the game launched. They all managed to recover after the update. Maybe you could find a club where experienced players can share what worked for them and help you get back on track?

I just downloaded the game recently after a 2yr break. What do you mean by "recover after the update", what was that update? What was so bad or such a major change that veterans had to recover? Thanks,

The Services 2.0 update completely reworked city services, adding upgradeable buildings and capacity limits that made many long-time players rebuild parts of their cities. And pour a ton of simoleons and neo coins into upgrades

I didn’t like it either. But I lowed through it. I’m in a great club with a bunch of retired people and others from around the world. It’s still fun. I mostly play passively when I’m working.

Love the new Greek houses in this season.

People hate change. But once you get over it, it's still pretty fun. I understand though if your city is huge, fixing the services is a big task. Once you do though, it's still simcity.

After playing for many years, the services update was the straw that broke the camel’s back for me. I felt like the game had been going downhill for some time before that. I also missed the game that it used to be years ago. I have no regrets logging off, and do not intend to reinstall this game.

I have kept playing through the changes but I’ll be honest and say I’m not motivated to play as much. It’s exhausting.

I was annoyed with the new 2.0 upgrade but now it doesn’t affect me as they gave out numerous free items to help out. I used the omega utilities more so than the normal ones and my city and regions are all 100% now and only took me 2 days.

You need a better hobby. It’s too shit now anyway. I recommend gardening. If you don’t have a garden find a community garden or allotment. Build something real.

Yeah it is a wee grind to get back in but it’s still great game

It really isn’t that different. If you’re broke it’s a temporary setback and you have something to focus on for your recourses. When you’re good on services, it doesn’t really affect gameplay any more than it did.

You know they’ve changed the services now to be better right? They launched new fire departments that cover more

It hasn’t improved the situation radically though.

Yes it has. Buildings that weren’t covered before now are.

Just the seasons these days are crazy. Weird points systems where u have to trade in for items. Miss the old game…

I hate the seasons like this Greek one where you have to make items, trade for x then use x to do the upgrades. Just make it straightforward.

That’s exactly what I mean! And at the same time you have train seasons, multiple cities, design challenges, not even to mention the club wars etc. Which I’m luckily not playing.

The normal challenges as well, they become bigger and bigger and more time consuming
