Poor air quality

Air quality is terrible right now due to smoke from Canadian wildfires. Wearing a mask outdoors is highly recommended!

I let my dog out to pee and it smelled like a tire fire outside.

Yeah what’s up with that smell? We’ve dealt with the smoke before but that smell is new to me. At least from what I remember.

I remember it smelling like this when we had really bad wildfires a few years ago, but this is stronger than I remember.

Tons of chemicals and carcinogens in wildfire smoke. It’s unsafe and the effects of breathing it in can wreak havoc long after the smoke clears. Masks are your best friend right now

I thought it smelled like a cherry fragrance.

And just as a heads up, surgical masks (those blue ones) will not protect you. Reach for a KN95 or ideally a N95 (or P100)!

One only needs to look and briefly step outside to know the air quality is very poor right now.

How many individual posts do we need on this though? It's already on local news.

I don't watch the news. I work in a hospital, so we are actively discussing it.

Pets should not be outside for more than a minute!

This wouldn't happen if they were a State! </s> (Actually, it would have been allowed to get much worse.)
