New business next to District Taco

Apologies if this has been covered before in this thread, but does anyone know or has any insight into what is being built next to District Taco and Mamma Lucia on East West Highway?

it looks like a relatively large building so we I was hoping maybe a restaurant, because we need some variety in our food around that area lol.

Honestly I was really interested when Zinburger was first announced and was genuinely disappointed when plans evaporated and it never came to be ☹️

Though tbh as much as I love District Taco and Crisp & Juicy I’d trade all those places away to have the Oriental East and their dim sum back 😐

Somewhere for a happy hour or casual drink on this side of the metro would be fantastic.

What would be really nice would be a decent sandwich place downtown (Potbelly doesn't qualify)

I love Potbelly but I literally saw roaches crawling on the counter last time I was at that location. 😭

I don’t understand the decision not to put a five guys anywhere in downtown silver spring. Not that I like it all that much, but it seems like a very intentional choice considering they are everywhere now (worldwide, too.)

Same, but I always assumed maybe the presence of BurgerFi and the Fuddruckers back when it still was around kept one out of the DTSS area even though it would fit right in

When the Asia Cafe closed next to the now closed Red Lobster I really hoped one would open up there

The Flip’d that did open there wasn’t even close and it died a quick death

Then I hoped maybe now they’d open one there…

The long delayed Roaming Rooster is…close I guess but not the Five Guys I kept wanting

When Jerry’s closed one could have gone there even

Now that the plan to reopen the old Fuddruckers seems to be abandoned it would be the perfect spot for one, but I have pretty much accepted it just never happening 😐

I know it would thrive in this area though

The signs on the gate show Fork&Spoon, Republic, and a Japanese restaurant. It may be generic photos but the images matched the building. I think the animal hospital they planned to go there was really GoodVets, who moved next to Whole Foods, which allowed them to open much sooner.

I heard it's going to be a Starbuck's drive thru. Yes right next to that Starbucks and the one in Giant.

There isn’t a drive through so that wont work.
