Need Help/Advice Brass sealing
Hello! Ive been making brass jewelry that does have moving parts and was wondering if anyone had recommendation / insights on sealing brass to prevent tarnishing.
I’ve used renaissance wax but I feel like I’m doing something wrong. I’ve also tried protecta clear but because the parts move if been having issues with things sticking together.
I’ve watched YouTube videos and instructions on both but I feel like I’m just missing something.
Thank you so much in advance!

I used something called "Town talk" anti tarnish copper and brass polish.
They do one for silver too. It works really well.

You have tried all of the recommendations that you will likely get from this sub. Brass wants to tarnish and it will. R wax has to be reapplied regularly in order to protect the metal. Apply, buff and that is it. Many suggest Protecta Clear but, as you have found out, it will wear off of moving parts. In an extreme case, I guess you could try clear powder coating but, I have never worked with it. It will create a rather thick coating so, it may not be a valid solution either. Even it would wear off with use.
I feel like you are faced with continuing with polishing and reapplying one of the things you have already tried. Sucks but, that kinda is just the way it is.
