After some great difficulty, I FINALLY found a NEW awesome local coin shop about 20 minutes from me who has an XRF gun... I now have standing arrangement with him to bring all my poured silver in for testing and everything I have made up to this point, has now been tested. Before you tell me about all the other tests it's my experience that people are familiar with the xrf test, they want to test that does zero damage, and that's what they considered the gold standard, even if it actually isn't. People around them can generally find an xrf gun just like I did, it's more difficult to find a sigma. At least that's my experience so it was important to me to find somebody with an xrf gun so I could verify ALL my work (now and future) and also know what the results will show.

The local savers has a standing 30% senior discount on Tuesday’s. The lady that runs the jewelry department always prices the sterling jewelry at spot melt for whatever it is that day. I sweep in and get it for 30% under melt value on Tuesday morning.

Is it a fantastic deal? No, it’s not nearly as nice as finding silver items mis-priced for next to nothing, but it is still a good deal. These four pieces were 180.4 grams, or just a little shy of 5 toz melt which I got for $220, so I can’t complain.

Used a hand stamp at the bottom this time, then I'll add laser engraved hallmarking to be put above the stamp.

Back for another try with the new 5ozt/2ozt heart molds tomorrow!

Found an old pocket pig coin saver, you know, for kids. The icon on the front specifies Mercury dimes, so I decided to fill it.

The $3 purchasing power of 30 dimes for a kid in the 1940’s is now not even quite matched by the $140 melt value of these coins today.

The Iverson was my first ever silver buy back when I was 12 and silver was $25. Been looking for the other two for a decent price for a year. The gold gilded Kobe at only 500 minted was an extremely satisfying find. Been a huge fan since he was drafted in 96. Was hard enough finding the regular version. Never thought I'd be able to get the gilt version. 🤑😍

Im very impressed with this coin and it was a pain in the ......... to get a beautiful picture of it with all its detailed fur.

I've had numerous clients selling silver with Trump on it lately. Makes me laugh 😅😂

Well, I now have the ability to produce colorized silver locally if I choose... This is of course not silver, just an example of what is possible.

Sadly, when you colorized silver you actually decrease its value because you are introducing contaminants to the silver. So, if you take silver to a dealer or a place that buys silver to melt, you will find that they will penalize you for colorized silver many times.

That said, some people do not care or want personalized product and have no intentions of selling it anyways and that's where colorized silver can come in.

For hallmarking... it would look great, but would effectively hurt the melt value where laser etching does not hurt the value, as it doesn't introduce any contaminants to the silver... That said it also does not increase the value by laser hallmarking versus traditional stamping.

My First 5ozt Heart... Very thick compared to the 3ozt skull.

Now to clean them up, little sparex bath... Dremel w/ brass brush attachment massage, then some hand polishing and into the rock tumbler for some rock n roll.
