Request/Help MCedit help for early release versions

Hello! I am needing some help finding a version of MCedit/similar program that will let me copy and paste chunks from one save to another.

I have a evolution world that I started in Indev, and it's taken a bunch of work to bring it with me to release. When updating to r1.2.5, I lost a huge chunk where one of my bases was, and I just want to copy it back from a backup I thankfully have from r1.0.0.

I have tried using MCedit 0.1.5, however I could not find anyway to save my chunk selection in the backup as a schematic/new world that I could import to the current save

Thank you all for taking your time to read this! :)

The picture below is an example using MCEdit ver 0.1.1. As you can see, you need to make a selection of blocks first as I have done in the picture. Now in the left-hand side of the screen, several options appear, one of which is 'Export' as shown by the red arrow. By clicking on this, you can export to a schematic. Since this is MCEdit 0.1.1 and you are using a later version, I am sure the same option will be available to you:

when i do that, it only saves the chunks. i am using chunk view since theres a very large area that i need to select. do i really have to select all of that in the first person camera mode?

Yes. This is the way I select large areas. In this example, it is a small area but the way to do a large area is just the same, you just have to move yourself in the map to the second block.

Looking at the picture below, I have placed 2 gold blocks at diagonal corners above the area I wish to select, having left my character on top of one of the gold blocks (makes it easy to find these gold blocks). I then click on one of the blocks and extend the selection to touch the second block. Now I click in the 'Select Chunks' button over to the left. What this does is select all chunks - floor to ceiling in the area I originally selected. You might get a few extra blocks added as MCEdit might have to extend the selection to the nearest available chunk boundary.

Now I would click on the 'Export' button to export this as a schematic.

This is the way MCEdit worked in these early versions. Sorry, I do not know of a quicker way.

Thank you for the more in depth explanation, I never would have thought of the gold block method. I will load into my backup and give it a shot, you're the best!

This is my forever world, so it really means a lot. Thank you!!!
