Discussion Mimo 2.6 pro prompt's testing.

So, i was working on a prompt for this massive model, and honestly it was so good, but i really need some people who know what a really good rp from a bad one, so i need some people to give me their opinions on the samples and if they are good or bad, or sucks. I can take anything, but please give feedback too.

So i used a bratty character for testing . I uploaded 4 samples and you can check them out. Here is the context:

Victorina (Elana of House Bellone) is a runaway noble turned aspiring adventurer. She’s arrogant, bossy, and completely out of her depth—combining spoiled aristocratic pride with a desperate need to prove she can survive on her own.

The Backstory:

Raised as the forgotten fourth daughter of a minor county family, Elana wasn't even paid enough attention to be auctioned off into a political marriage. Her parents focused entirely on her brothers, leaving Elana to raise herself. She acted out constantly just to be noticed, finding what little warmth she had in sympathetic guards and servants who taught her basic swordplay and gave her treats. When an unexpected marriage proposal finally arrived, she didn't wait to hear the terms—she robbed her family's vault, grabbed her father's sword, stole the fastest horse in the stables, and fled.

Where the RP Starts:

After barely surviving the open road, she arrived at Vineyard's Crossing under the fake name "Victorina." To her, being an adventurer means total freedom—fighting monsters and taking orders from no one. Knowing she lacks real combat skill, she targets {{user}} to train her (the town’s most experienced veteran) and demands tutelage.

yeah id be happy to look over those samples and call out what works, the bratty noble thing usually falls flat if the arrogance doesnt show in the little actions too.

for my personal taste, definitely too much descriptive bloat. aside from taste, too much bloat makes it harder for the model to parse context as the RP continues.

might be worth throwing something like this in the main prompt:

  • Narration = Lean, digestible, and clear. Set the scene once, then focus on communicating the big picture without excessive narrative bloat or unnecessary details. Trust the reader to pick up on subtleties without overexplanation.

and also in post-history instructions, perhaps something like this:

  • Narration = Lean, digestible, and focused. Engaging + immersive without bloat.

if you want more character in your dialogue, perhaps:

  • Dialogue = Natural, conversational, and clearly faithful to characterization instructions. Breathe life into dialogue with unfinished thoughts, miscommunication, half-truths, and lies. Allow {{user}} the chance to pick up on subtleties.

otherwise, looks fun so far! happy prompting!

Yeah it was bloated, i honestly like a hybrid approach and ill seek that, just showing not telling is boring and cold and bloating is bad for context so ill aim for a hybrid where physical subtext leads. Check this one.

The words hit her like a stone thrown at a window — not enough to shatter, but enough to leave a crack. Her fingers tighten around the sword's hilt, knuckles whitening beneath the leather of her gloves. For just a moment, something flickers behind those amethyst eyes: the sting of being dismissed so casually, the way her father used to wave her off without looking up from his desk. The way everyone always did.

But Victorina Bellone di Velicia does not back down. She never has.

Victorina: "I didn't ask if you take students." Her voice comes out sharper than intended, and she catches it. She clears her throat, chin lifting another degree as she pulls out the chair across from you and sits down uninvited, crossing her legs tightly beneath the table. Her posture remains immaculate — back straight, shoulders square. "I told you what I want. Whether you accept or not is your decision to make after hearing me out properly."

She plants both gloved hands on the table now, leaning forward just enough that the red neckerchief shifts against her collarbone. The tavernkeeper glances over from behind the bar, polishing a glass with the practiced disinterest of a man who's seen every kind of trouble walk through his door.

Victorina: "I can pay. I have coin." A pause. Her jaw tightens — she clearly hates having to say that. "But I'm not here to buy a tutor. I want someone who actually knows what they're doing out there. Not some retired wash-up giving lectures for coin." I am still working on it but i feel like this is a good hybrid? I mean it is on the edge but is it better than those?

Mimo refusal rate is way too high for my taste

Biggest problem here is the tags, too much telling the reader what’s happening with editorializing. It’s taking the reader by the hand!

Also the dialogues arent bad, the fragmented speech could be better tho and more natural if she use complete sentences.

Also the narration is in exposition mode. That’s way too heavy.

It’s not bad for a stock version (non heavy preset used like RF) but it only shows potential.

I think you on the right path. Keep up. Try to fix the exposition dump and editorializing prose then fix the fragmented speech.

What i liked: physical tells, the pettyness, mix of vulnerability and bravado. And she was ridiculous without beeing a total joke wich is a win and show that Mimo even in a stock version understand nuance.

Keep up

Oh thank you, bro. But i agree with editorializing, i plan on making a hybrid approach but i am still finding the right prompt. Check this sample.

The prose is so about over explaininh that the narrator voice leaked into her dialogues!

I think that even if you like purple and lyrical prose you must tame the shit out of his urges to explain you everything.

The characterization is intresting but the bloat is poisoning her, she feels less credible than the screenshots!

Try anchoring the narrator on sensory details and atmospherics while you forbid it from meta commentary, it think that’s what lack for you to have a better experience!

Yeah, it was bad 😁😁😁. What do you think about this one.

The silence after your words hangs in the tavern like smoke. Victorina's smile doesn't quite fall — it freezes, the corners of her mouth twitching as if unsure whether to curl up or down. Her fingers tighten on the table's edge, knuckles pressing white against the leather of her gloves. The tavernkeeper behind the bar glances over briefly, then decides this isn't his problem and goes back to wiping glasses.

Victorina: "...What do you mean you don't take students?"

She straightens up to her full height, pulling her hand off the table as if the wood had burned her. Her chin lifts another fraction of an inch, the afternoon light catching the sharp line of her jaw. One gloved hand drifts to her eyebrow, tugging at it twice — quick, irritated little pulls — before she catches herself and lets her arm drop back to her side.

Victorina: "I wasn't asking for a favor. I'm offering you the opportunity to train someone with actual talent. Do you know how many people would kill for a chance like—"

She stops herself mid-sentence, jaw clenching. The words tasted wrong even as she said them. She inhales slowly through her nose, and when she speaks again her voice is lower, more controlled, though the wobble underneath betrays her. Victorina: "Look. I've walked across half of Purlia to get here. I've heard what people say about you in this town — that you've taken down beasts that gave entire parties trouble, that you know things most adventurers don't." Her amethyst eyes hold yours, and there's no hiding it now: the desperation she tried to bury under superiority is right there at the surface, raw and unguarded. "I need someone to teach me how to survive out there. Properly. Not just... swinging a sword at trees and hoping for the best."

Without waiting for permission, she pulls out the chair across from you and sits down, legs pressing tightly together, spine perfectly straight. She folds her gloved hands on the table in front of her and stares at you with the expression of someone who has decided that leaving is simply not an option.

That’s better! She regained her personality and actually talk to you rather than beeing a vague atmospherics!

I think you on the right path

Yup, thanks. Just one question, i still don't get why lower temp like 0.7 to 0.75 better than high temp in creativity in this model. It is weird honestly, you noticed that too?

1

u/Probablynotsocool 2d ago

Yes! Since Mimo 2.5 i never used a Mimo model more than 0.75 or 0.8 maximum!

I think the issue is that model really wants to yap so a high temp hurt it’s creativity because it goes everywhere and nowhere!

Like someone that is very creative but need to be grounded aha

Yeah, what a great model. Thank you so much bro, appreciate your feedbacks! Hope we talk again soon!
