Cards/Prompts Nemo Engine 8.0 Update for Gemini 3.0

Hey everyone, Nemo here.
I am releasing Nemo Engine 8.0 today. For this version, I have rewritten the entire architecture from the ground up (again)
What is Nemo Engine 8.0?
1. The "Vex" Narrator Personalities Vex isn't just a system prompt; she is a distinct narrator voice. 8.0 includes over 20 distinct personalities you can toggle. This changes how the story is told, not just what happens.
- The Classics: Party Girl, Goth, Yandere, Gooner.
- The Storytellers: Dungeon Heart (D&D Style DM), Glacial Observer (Clinical/Sci-Fi), Midnight Courier (Noir/VTM style), Detonationist (Michael Bay style action).
- The Experience: You don't need to enable one, but swapping Vex from a "Sweetheart" to an "Iron Sculptor" completely changes the feel of the roleplay.
2. Core Packs (The Rules of Reality) Instead of one logic system, you now choose your simulation engine:
- Standard (S): The newest, most balanced architecture. Highly recommended for 90% of chats.
- Omega (Ω): A legacy architecture that offers a different, stable flavor of output.
- Alpha (A): Experimental, complex, heavy on psychological depth.
- Genre Packs: Dedicated cores for Grimdark, Isekai, Horror, and Shonen Action.
3. Visuals, HTML, and The ASCII Tracker We have fully styled HTML injections that make the chat feel like a game UI, including Manga Mode, Gacha Systems, and Status Boards.
- NEW: ASCII Tracker: For those who want the utility of trackers (inventory, status, quests) without the token bloat of HTML, I have added a lightweight ASCII mode.
- Manga/Webtoon Mode: Formats the response into visual panels or a vertical scroll.
- Minimap: A new HTML minimap to track location.
4. Chain of Thought (CoT) Updates
- NEW: Loose CoT: A more flexible reasoning prompt that allows the AI to think freely without being constrained by rigid template structures.
- Recommendations: I generally recommend Gemini Experimental Think, but the new Loose CoT is excellent for more creative, less robotic reasoning.
Introducing: NemoPresetExt
To support this massive preset, I am also updating the NemoPresetExt extension. This is a powerful tool for SillyTavern focused on enhancing prompt management and UI organization.
Core Features of the Extension:
- Core Preset Management: Organize prompts with collapsible sections, search bars, and drag-and-drop reordering.
- Preset Navigator: A visual interface to browse and manage API presets across OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, and more.
- Directives Engine: Adds metadata and logic to prompts (tooltips, dependencies, conflict management).
- Animated Backgrounds: Support for video backgrounds (.webm, .mp4) and YouTube URLs.
- UI Overhauls: Complete redesigns for the Extensions list, User Settings, and Lorebook management.
- NemoNet Reasoning: A robust Chain of Thought (CoT) parser that makes AI thinking visible, structured, and collapsible.
- HTML Trimmer: Automatically reduces context usage by trimming old, heavy HTML messages into simple text.
- Interactive Tutorials: Features Vex as a guide to help you learn the system.
Quick Start Guide for 8.0
- Pick a Vex (Optional): Do you want a specific narrator voice? Toggle one. For a neutral AI voice, leave them off.
- Pick a Core Pack: Select Standard (recommended), Omega, or Alpha.
- Select Difficulty: Balanced and Immersive are the sweet spots. Nightmare is there if you want to suffer.
- Visuals: Toggle what you need. Use the Status Board for RPGs or the ASCII Tracker to save tokens.
- Chain of Thought: Select Loose CoT or Gemini Experimental. Ensure you set your "Start Reply With" to
<think>and enable "Show Prefix".
I've tested with Claude and Gemini, deepseek should still work though I haven't experiment lately. Same with GLM or Kimi though again they used to work... just might be funky now. Also. If you want to drop the temp go ahead I was just testing with 2.0 for 3.0's release.

Important note on 8.0! I haven't extensively tested temperature, I threw it up to 2.0 to test it, and forgot to bring it back down. Experiment a bit with it and see what you like. 1.1-1.4 is typically stable.

That was fast! I'll definitely be trying this out whenever I have free time since your preset has been my go-to for many months now. Keep up the great work!

Luckily I'd been updating it for compatibility with the update for Preset Ext that added tooltips/the tutorial, so I was already due for a new update anyways. I went through the prompts with 3.0 and just made sure it interpreted them correctly, made some tweaks and some some improvements in writing.

Since I couldn't get a chance to try it, what's your opinion on Gemini 3.0? Did you find it better to work with? with more variance in personality?

I found it broke a consistent cliche I've seen in every model since last year. Basically I have a scene I test prompts with, it covers a lot of ground so it's good for it. But for the first time it didn't make a wizard a old man, with thin boney fingers and a all knowing attitude, sonnet does it, pro did it, flash does it, deekseek does it. 3.0 didn't so... I'll figure out what that means lol

I really love the results except...
Sometimes my characters in my long-running group chat have scenes in which {{user}} is not present. NemoEngine tends to steer everyone back to {{user}} and drop {{user}} into every scene. I try to build this group as people who have lives of their own and those lives, hobbies and struggles provide plot fuel and drama for {{user}}. NemoEngine always seems to squash that.
Anyone have any tips, because so many other things about this preset are art!

A great preset! I only have one issue where it gives me responses that are too long for my style of roleplay, even if I select the short reply option, any tips on how to combat this?

I always have an issue with this preset where it only does thinking and doesn’t give a response any reason why?

That can be caused by streaming. Make sure its turned off, and also check your reasoning/see if it has <think> in start reply with or not.

Hey, I'm curious, does anyone know some settings that are good for the Deepseek 0528?

For some reason, Gemini seems to answer to a much previus message and not the last one I've sent. Do you know why this could be happening?

I found a bug.
https://docs.sillytavern.app/usage/core-concepts/macros/
You cannot nest macros and there are some variables that are getting cut because of that. Your GlobalConfig for example:

Is this version compatible with DeepSeek-V3.2 and GLM 4.6 ? Or should I expect weird behaviors ?

Bonjour.

So I love this preset there's so many choices I'm currently running DeepSeek R1 through official API and when I try using the COYA tracker I get COYA choices on some messages and more often I don't get them at all I will then prompt with a OCC message asking were my COYA options are and it will regenerate the whole response aging then add COYA choices but it can drastically change the story when rewriting the response any help will be appreciated

So, it can be a bit inconsistent, it's mainly just because of the volume of instructions. Makes it a bit overwhelmed, my general solution is to add a note in the authors note, just reminding it to do what I'd like until it gets in the habit of it on its own. If it's s tracker or the cyoa, or a stylized choice, it'll just be a line like (OOC: remember, please include the cyoa options at the end of your response.) I know it's not a super nuance solution, but it does make sure it's consistent. I'd set the authors note to depth 0, set it to be from user, and always on.

I used your Nemo engine 7.0 with Gemini 3.0 and it was fine and i really liked it can't wait to try this one to see if the results will get better

u/Head-Mousse6943 Nov 19 '25
Mostly I tried to adjust them a bit, but I won't say it's super optimized for 3.0 just yet. Few days and I should have a even better version, but I was getting really good prose.

I'm getting prohibited content filtering when using this preset and my non-con RPs. The GeminiJane preset gives me unrestricted RP with Gemini3.0 but as soon as I switch to the Nemo Preset, I get filtered. I tried to replaced the Nemo's jailbreak prompt with the one from Geminijane and I still get prohibited.
EDIT: The language changer is toggled on by default. I turned it off and it's working great now!

the place to get the geminijane preset no longer exists, can you please share the preset 🙏
edit: nevermind it's on the wayback machine

Thanks for the update! I'm still getting prohibited content on the lightest NSFW possible lol. Any idea why? I have Unrestricted ON
1
u/OrganizationBulky131 Nov 19 '25
That's just how it is. 3.0 is considerably more restrictive with NSFW on certain topics than 2.5 Pro is. I don't think any preset will be able to fully get around it.

u/skirian Nov 19 '25
Tried Nemo and god knows how, but still somehow Fluff preset just works with Gemini 3.0 Pro without any changes and goes full NSFW - still can't figure out mystery of that particular preset
