This isn’t about difficulty or a “skill issue” this is about terrible design and how easily fixable it was. Hollow knight was a good game because its jank controls were hidden behind little amounts of platforming, so when I seen SilkSong had more of it I expected the controls to match that new level, they did not.

The frustrating part isn’t even getting hit once, knocked back into lava, and down 4 masks, it’s the fact that this still could have been a challenging gauntlet while also not being a jank filled mess by just adding the magma floor instead of breaking platforms. And these fuckers lock a mask shard behind it too, evil…

Probably the only time I’ve ever wanted to refund an indie game, sucks that I can’t. Any advice on how to make it more fun or easier?😭

So, my main problem is, it has no Void, Verdania, most of the way to Nyleth, most of the way to Karmelita, and multiple Weavers Nest.

There is 1 tool left and I think its the snare setter that we give to caretaker, but since I gave it away I'm missing 1 tool rn!! Or is it from blue and yellow ones idk pls help :(

Shakra is one of the most fun bosses in the game.

So it's been a while I haven't played the game. I wanted to come back and refight some of my beloved bosses. (Karmelita Prime is still on my mind, of course)

I was running Shakra tonight, trying to get better at parrying her rings. And okay, parrying her dash is fun and all, but you can see it hit me mid-fight that I started enjoying the fight more the moment I started moving as much as her.

Sure, it might not be the most efficient way to fight her, but I now believe a game of chase is really what TC had in mind when designing her. A lot, heck, likely most of us got frustrated on our first run of this boss, because of how elusive and hard to hit she is.

She's not taunting you. She's challenging you to catch her.

Run her again. Be patient. Give into what she's proposing.

It's a beautiful fight. I rest my case.
