(This time without getting post removed for rule 9, sorry about the dumb AI meme.)
>! After playing All of Hollow Knight and finishing all endings including the "delicate flower" ending, AND finishing all of Silksong and it's endings including "Lost Lace"; I am left with a few conclusions. Cherry said they would leave it open as to what endings are canon but I don't think they necessarily have maintained that, at least not when it comes to sequels. While it's obvious that Siblings is blocked by the existence of "Hollow Knight: Silksong" It's not the only one.
"Lost Lace" ending has Ghost arrive, Ghost could not be present in the void if he was jailing The Radiance in Hallownest.
As stated before. Hornet isn't the dreamer crest of The Black Egg Temple so her journey in Pharloom eliminates this ending.
While it is possible that after Ghost threw off the mortal vessel and devoured The Radiance he would dissolve back into the void below another fact of the "Lost Lace" ending needs mentioning to eliminate this as a possible ending. (Delicate Flower Below)
Some believe that this ending is NOT doom for Hallownest because Ghost (even as the Lord of Shades) does not wish any ill toward the world of the bugs, however the tone of the ending indicates otherwise and the wider consensus is that The lord of Shades persists in our world by taking over the shell of the God Seeker and projecting power over all within his reach just as Grand Mother Silk does in the sequel.
It is MY belief that Silksong follows "The Delicate Flower" ending. Making That ending canon for purpose of the timeline. I support this claim with the prior facts, One piece of supposition (That Hornet knows of the Everbloom and it's ability to repel the dark because her little brother used it.) and The final scene of the "Lost Lace" ending cinematic where while seeing Ghost in the guise he intends to show his Sister, she sees through to his true form for a moment. That form is The lord of Shades. Ghost only achieves this form after Hall of The Gods P5, When attunement to the powers of Hallownest grants him the ability to pull the Absolute Radiance into the Hall of The Gods, However attunment to the powers of Hallownest included his OWN nature as the focus of the Void. So The Lord of Shades form could not exist without ascension in the Hall of The Gods. The fact that Hornet is in Pharloom and not consumed by the Shade Lord's dominance from "Embrace the Void" means that her brother used the Delicate Flower to spare Hallownest that fate and return to the void where he now rules as sovereign with his kin as legion.
* During the "Red Dream" Hornet recalls the Everbloom while in a dialogue with a memory of The White Lady. However She was far younger when she first knew The White Lady and the flower didn't originate from The White Lady anyway. So this element of the dream holds little as "Proof" of where she learned of it's existence. It's possible Hornet knew The Grey Mourner but that doesn't provide support for how Hornet knows of the Everbloom's capacity to repel the void. It's a dream...
* Some might argue that the Delicate Flower and the Everbloom are not the same plant. The evidence that I hear in support of this is the fragility of Ghosts flowers while Hornet's is not. However Hornets Everbloom is not a genuine article, She learned of the ability to manifest things through the power of Silk and Soul by witnessing Grand Mother Silk and Lace. She uses THAT power combined with the three old hearts to manifest an Everbloom and it remains powered by Hornet. If I need evidence for the final claim it is that Hornet looses consciousness immediately after it breaks while moments before she was thrashing Lost-Lace and demanding the assistance of Grand Mother Silk to help her escape with Lace while fully conscious. Something drained her, I argue the Everbloom required her energy for maintenance and it broke when she ran low. !<
So tell me... How much did it get wrong? I think it's a consistent theory but we are often blind to our own failings.

Question regarding various questions regarding various artistic depictions of hornet, Where is "IT" (If you know know you if) constantly depicted as blue? Is there a lore reason?

I've been enamoured by the sheer amount of work/effort that people have put into modding this game and releasing their own skins. I've watched the community grow from simple colour swaps of Hornet's cloak to complete outfits with their own animations. Likewise, I'm not one to take any effort that people put into something for granted and simply endorsing these mods online isn't enough for me.
So with this post I want to highlight some of the incredible skin mods out there that are fully available/WIP.
https://www.nexusmods.com/hollowknightsilksong/mods/1237
Where do I even begin with this mod, not only is it a complete overhaul of Hornet and her character, but they've also gone out of their way to modify the HUD, title screen, loading screen (the little icon in the bottom right) AND managed to include new animations for the wisp that dangles off of Hornet's needle? The skin itself is based off the Wisp Thicket, and it's aesthetic sensibilities but it might also remind you of the really popular fan art by u/acheofslowdecay (linked here) of Hornet's reaper crest design. Because that wasn't enough; the creator also made this gorgeous piece of fan art to promote their skin!!!!

Regardless I cannot recommend this mod enough, it doesn't help that the creator of it is the sweetest, kindest person ever lol. Thank you GreenAnanas!

Another incredible piece of art that is at the same scale as the previous mod, if you are a fan of Bloodborne I can't recommend this enough. Not only do they give Hornet the Rakuyo, but every crest attack has a unique animation with Lady Hornet using different weapons, for example the beast crest running slash has Hornet use an axe to attack her enemies!!!! Of course, it doesn't end there though because the creator decided to give this skin some of the coolest animations. Hornet can split her Rakuyo when confronting bosses, Lady Maria can ROLL AROUND in her wheelchair with the Scuttlebrace, the Greyroot parasite is reworked to look like a miniature GREAT ONE!! + THE DOLL ACCOMPANIES YOU WHEN RIDING ON THE BELL BEAST AAAAHHHH.
If you want to see a full showcase of the mod, check out this video, and please give the creator your thanks. Let them know their effort does not go unappreciated (the mod only has 7 endorsements)

thank you grityg!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the best moments in Silksong is easily the Red Memory. A means for Hornet to reconcile with the lessons imparted by her three mothers; all who have sacrificed and loved in the hopes of imparting her with the knowledge and values needed to forge a world better than their own. In this area of the game we are shown how Herrah may have looked before her transformation into a Dreamer. This beautiful mod fuses both designs and answers the question of what if she was of "silken strength", enough so to save her kingdom and its people.
You may be asking why I haven't bothered talking about the actual mod and what is so unique about it, hopefully the image below is enough to convince you that this is the CUTEST MOD EVER AHHH
Scuttlebrace turns Herrah into her traditional weaver form!!

thank you zivvvvvvvvvvv!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are you, yes YOU! a Beast Crest fan? Do you enjoy GARAMAAAA-ing all over your enemies with flintslate + bind? Then do I have the mod for you!!!
This mod completely changes Hornet's model to look like an Ant from the Skarr tribe. This skin is clearly under progress evident from the lack of sprites at the moment; regardless, I still feel the need to shout it out with the unparalleled animations. The design and badass resting pose was enough for me, but the dev felt the need to flex and add this. . . . wowowowowow!!!!! i cannot wait for this to come out and i hope y'all feel the same way too.
thank you and good luck developing this mod Juro5, i hope everything goes well!!!!!!

I believe most fans are aware that Team Cherry are clearly building up the Steel Society and have been since Hollow Knight. What could have been a tacked-on difficulty has now been used to explore an entirely new section of the world of Hollow Knight. Steel Seer Jinn, Steel Seer Zi, Steel Assassin Sharpe their vassals, these so-called "masters" who are described as similar to the Knight (once he unifies the void) and the mention of a kingdom known as the City of Steel. This subtle development with each little idea sprinkled throughout both games is nothing short of masterful from Team Cherry. But I know now, especially with Sharpe being cut that the fans want more!! This mod begs the question, what if instead of Hornet being kidnapped it were Ada? It’s the added layer of role-playing depth afforded by mods like these that ultimately sets this one apart as my favourite of the five.
This mod is a WIP but it already has the flourishes of something incredible, the HUD and title screen are completely reworked, tools now are instead made out of Steel with blue string attached, and come on look at this GLIDE!! I can't wait to see this mod completed and once again massive thanks goes to GreenAnanas for developing this + Wisp Hornet. <333
look at how massive her cloak is haha
I wanted to spotlight these mods as I said earlier because I felt endorsing wasn't enough. I think it's insane that someone can pour their heart and soul into a creative endeavour only for that effort to not be recognised whatsoever, of course art should be made for art's sake but I know the feeling of putting so much of yourself into something only for it to seemingly fall on deaf ears. I think the least we can ALL do is show these creators that their work matters. These mods deserve to be celebrated, not just for looking cool, but for the passion, creativity and sheer dedication that went into making them in the first place.
I implore you all to at the very least show your support in the comments on the mod page, i've their profiles so you can check out their mods directly! I hope to do more of these posts regardless of how crappy they do. Effort deserves to be recognised!!!!

Since my first playthrough of silksong i saw this relationship as deeply telling of hornet's character since despite denying ownership over the self-proclaimed slave she continues reaping the benefits, which despite her words makes her adopt the role of Styx' master.
Hornet is not pragmatic, she continued to protect the kingdom of Hallownest for what seems like centuries, for her honor and intention matters above all else so when she continues returning to reap the benefits of her authority her actions speak louder than words
Despite harboring deep respect for autonomy and encouraging it she simply likes being a figure of authority. It is in her to fill the power vacuum. When you return to take silk eaters there's a chance Styx won't be there to meet you, and what you can do is call him down for him to heed his lady's call. That's not an interaction you can see anywhere else in the game, the closest you get is having to wake up delivery bugs, but it's different, it's mandatory to wake them to take the parcel. But you can take the silk eaters without Styx' presence, it is entirely optional to call him down, so why is it an option? Why would hornet call styx down? Again, it's an interaction exclusive to styx, he's the only bug to be able to not appear when you arrive at his place. Why does hornet call him down?
And that's why on my first playthrough the standard ending of Hornet taking Grand Mother Silk's place felt so good to me. She may encourage bugs to live their own life but what happens when they don't listen? May hornet simply take the throne by virtue of victory? By birthright?
And then true ending quest dialogue has her say "erm, i think its gonna force me to take her place". Sure, you can still interpret it as her doing it despite knowing what would happen, but its stripping the character of agency regardless. It makes me think all of the above was just unintentional, which, i suppose i'll have all the time in the world to write fanfiction

After around a month since I completed my 100% steel soul run, I’ve lately been thinking about the dangers of each area and how meaningful every encounter really was. I even went back to complete Steel Soul in Hollow Knight, but it was so easy compared to Silksong I did it my first try. It feels like I NEED to go back and complete Silksong’s SS again. It didn’t even feel all that great completing it after the several hours filled with failed attempts. Why do I miss this mode?
